When do points become available for ressies?

We recently closed on a resale contract at BWV. I called Disney today and our names, etc. are in the system, however, our points have not yet shown up in the system. MS was able to give me our Member ID #, but was not able to give us our PIN. Once we are in Disney's system, when do our points show up? When will we be able to bank points and make reservations?

Unfortunately, we had already scheduled vacation time for the first week in Dec. before I realized how difficult it would be to get reservations at that time. So, every day that goes by, my anxiety level continues to climb. We are so excited about our trip and will be really bummed if we have to postpone due to lack of availability.

We didn't buy resale but I think I've read that is can take a few weeks or more. Did the contract you bought have points available or were they all gone? Some resales have no points available until the new UY.

Now that your name is in the system, the points won't be far behind. Call every day to ask if the points are there yet. If they are, make the reservation for December.

The first week of December at BWV is hard to get. You need to book that at 11 months, especially for standard or boardwalk view. Once your points are available, call and see if you can get on the waitlist. See if you can make a backup reservation, you maybe able to get OKW or SSR.

I had already resigned myself to the fact that our first trip home would not be at Boardwalk. The MS person I spoke to today said that the only thing available is a 2 br at OKW and a 1 br at SSR. We will be happy with whatever we can get.

There are points available that need to be banked. I think they have to be banked by May 31 (we have a Sept. UY) and more points will be coming on Sept. 1.

Hi! I am also waiting on our contract to wrap up so I can start making reservations! (We also have a Sep UY..) I thought the points had to be banked by Feb 28th? Is the May 31st deadling for half value? Not up to speed on this yet!

When we bought resale, we were "in the system" one day, and the points were in the account the next day. I believe those operations are done by different departments and the establishment of the account has to take place first, then the points can be put in. It won't be long.

Be sure to check your points carefully with MS. If there are any discrepancies, it's a lot easier to get them straight at the start, rather than when you are right in the middle of making a ressie. We found a minor mistake with our points, but it was a no-harm, no-foul thing that amounted to nothing.

Typically once your information is in the system your points should be loaded in a couple of days. I was told by member services that they do not load points in on Mondays. I would call back. I have done 4 resales and I believe that they were entered in a couple days after the contract was entered. Good luck and Welcome Home neighbor.

Disbug - the May 31 banking deadline was for half of the points.

I was able to make our reservations today! It took one week from the date of closing for the points to show up in our account. The closing company told me to wait 3 weeks before calling. I've never followed directions very well! Hey, sometimes it pays off!
