When do I receive log in info?

I just received the welcome packet with the reservation point chart and dvc magnets in the mail today. Still haven't received the member number though. I was under the impression that the member numer came first and the welcome packet later. Am I mistaken?!
Might I ask how long from closing/deed reg it took to get the welcome pack?

I called admin on 1/28/2016 and she was able to verify I was in the system and she provided my member id and activation code over the phone which I was then able to use on the sit and verify my points were in the account and active. On 1/29/2016 I received a letter that said I "was in the system and here is your membership number and the welcome packet will follow within a few days". I still have not received the welcome packet but at least now I have access to book!

Really? I've read that most people have their number with in 14-18 days, and the member packet comes before that.
No, the member packet comes after that. Most people are starting to call in an effort to get their number before it comes in the mail. The folks on the phone seem to get the member number around 14 days after recording.

In the past, people seemed to have gotten the membership number before the welcome packet. But my recent experience was the same as yours. I received our welcome packet nearly 3 weeks ago (January 13), after our deed was recorded on December 29. I *still* have not received a membership number in the mail. I was finally able to get access to the system by calling late last week (January 28, so nearly a month after the deed was recorded). My attempt to call a few days prior to that was met with "we can't find you in the system". Others whose deeds were recorded around the same time as mine, or even shortly after, have reported success in obtaining their membership numbers over the phone much sooner, in the more typical 12-14 day range. So perhaps I was just unlucky.

I do suggest calling, unless you're in no rush to obtain access. I wanted a reservation in March, so I was getting a bit anxious.

Just closed on 1/20 and I called today and was told up to 45 days to get number. Then I got transferred to accounting to get the final 2015 taxes paid for my return. The guy there told me 30 days. I am hoping to call back next week and get something. I want to book for end of September so I need to see what is out there. My airfare window opens on Sunday.

Thank you for that information! I will try to call tomorrow as we are looking to book a trip as well. It doesnt make me feel very good that you closed over a week before me and still have not received your number in the mail.

Calling really does not get you anywhere except frustrated. I would recommend just waiting for the member number to arrive since they typically will not service you without the number. Once you have the number they will give you everything you need to get into the website. My member number came in an envelope with a single sheet of paper which could have easily been thrown away.

I'm selling a contract. The warranty deed appeared on the Orange County comptroller's website on Jan 19. The seller is paying the 2016 dues and I see that Disney processed the payment on Jan 20 so I assume Disney received the paperwork to transfer ownership at that time. It is now Jan 31 and the contract is still in my account! I wasn't expecting the transfer to take this long.

There is some weird stuff going on. I sold a small contract about 5 months ago and the sellers money was in my bank account cleared and moved to savings about 2 weeks before they took the points out of my membership.

That may be your experience. Calling got me a value studio reservation at AKV 6 weeks from now, in high season. Of course I got lucky with that, but if I hadn't been logged on, I wouldn't have had that luck. Likely I would have gotten something, somewhere, but there is very little availability for my dates.

I'm up to 36 days now, no letter. And if you're insinuating that I probably threw my letter out by mistake, I assure you that I didn't. Possibly it got lost in the mail, but that's all the more reason to call.

I'm not advocating calling early and often. I waited 4 weeks before I called the first time, and then another 3 days before I called again. If you read some of the other threads, you'll see that most people who are calling *are* having success in obtaining their membership numbers over the phone. Not always on the first try, but usually within a few attempts. When my dues have been paid, they've sent me a welcome letter and a points chart, and even emailed an account activation code, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be given access to that account.

You'll probably be okay in September, as long as you're not too particular. I've been doing some poking around just to get an idea of what availability is like across the resorts at different times of the year, and right now September is pretty much wide open everywhere, for almost all room types. If you want a studio at VGF or one of the very popular booking categories at a couple of the other resorts, you might be out of luck. Otherwise you'll likely have lots of options.

We closed the same date as the OP, and I just called again today--and was told to wait until I got my member package in the mail. I have done resale before, but this is taking way longer than the previous purchases. The lady I spoke with a couple weeks ago was more helpful than the one I spoke with today, but still basically said there was no member number in the system yet, and that the mailed package would probably be there first (before it would be on the system).

Who did you call? In the past, only Member Accounting (option 3) would provide the new member number over the phone. Everyone else will tell you to wait for the mail.

Did option #2 a couple weeks ago, and then option #3 this morning......to be honest, option #3 was the least-helpful of both of them, and kind of just said 'wait till it comes in the mail'.

I have called with questions (tried) twice this week. Not asking for my number, and being up front about most likely not being in the system. Option two, the CM would have gladly given me the number, but couldn't find me in the system. Option 3? She was very polite, answered my question, but never even came close to offering to look my up. Officially Friday will be day 14 from recording, so maybe I'll try again. I'm so worried that the 1brs will be gone at SSR for my April trip by the time I get to book.
