I've read on a couple other threads about Florida schools being on break sometime in October. We're going the week of the 17th, and just wondering how crowded it may be.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure about FL, but I live in North AL and alot of our schools are out then. Some out 1st-15th and some just 7th-15th of Oct. There are alot of other schools that have a fall break also.

Quite a few Cdns take the week of our thanksgiving-this year I believe it falls on the 11th-so October 9-17 Would be the Thanksgving week.

I read somewhere on these boards that there is no school for Orlando area kids on the 15th of October.

I am here in Lee County & my kids will be off Oct 8th for a Professional Duty Day. You could always do an engine search for Florida School Districts & find the counties that you want to check. After you find the county ...see if they have thier 04-05 calendar posted yet... then you could see all the days that they will be off....

I'm looking to plan for OCtober too-- but I'm thinking alittle later in the month-- possibly bringing us home around 10/30. We went last year the last week in Oct/ first week in Nov-- weather and crowds were GREAT!!!

Northwest Florida (Pensacola) will be out Oct 4th-11th

We'll be in Disney! :D

Pinellas County(st. pete area)has an early release day on Oct 14,and no school on the 15th. They also get the week of Thanksgiving off(Nov.22-26).

Spring break, Easter break, fall break,Christmas, New years, mid year break, teachers convention, presidents week, on and on. when are these kids actually in school?

They aren't. LOL and the funny part about it is, that they think that they don't have ENOUGH breaks!

I know what you mean! Next year our kids have spring break in March (9 days including the weekends) then they go to school for 4 days then it's Good Friday, the easter weekend and easter monday off again-I think we calculated that they are actually at school 14 days total next March! It could be less if you include the professional days (we don't have that schedule yet).
