I have a dd10. Her feet have recently gone from a size 3 kids to a size 5 women. Probably due to all the Uggs talk and not wanting to buy brand name until her feet stop growing I'm curious as to when that typically is.

My daughter is 11 and she wears a women's 8.5 or 9 :scared1: and her foot growth has slowed in the last year, but has not completely stopped. I hope it stops soon!!!

Buy her Uggs when she fits into the same size that you do. That way, if her feet grow, you'll have a pair of Uggs like I do... handed down from DD.

My DD's feet stopped growing when she was 12/13. She went from a 7.5 to a 9.5 literally overnight.

I bought my daughter a pair of slightly larger than her size Uggs summer of 2009 and with the stretching from wear she is still extremely comfortable in them this year. I think she was a size 6+ at the time and I got her a 7 which she wore just fine with nice thick socks.

My DD is now 14 and I hope her feet have stopped growing. It seems like girls these days have larger shoe sizes....my daughter is also a 9 to 9.5 and so are many of her friends. She's tall and thin but her feet are larger than mine so no sharing shoes unfortunately.

Foot growth slows down after a girl passes puberty, but they can continue to grow for many years after. When I graduated HS I wore a size 7. When I had my first baby(@30) I wore a 7-1/2. When I had my last baby (@almost 40) I wore a 9!!

So, you might as well go ahead and get her the Uggs. ;)

Feet often "grow" during pregnancy because the ligaments stretch and do not spring back. I went from a 9/9.5 to a 10.

Are you tall people or short people? With me and my girls we were done growing by about 14. Younger dd is 5ft, middle dd is 5' 1" and I am 5' 3".

We all wear basically the same size, 7 1/2-8.

My dd will be 15 in January. I thought she was totally done growing, but she sprung up another inch this past spring. Her shoe size has stayed close to the same for the last 2 years. She went from an 8 to 8 1/2 or 9. She can still fit into a couple of pairs of older shoes. I think she is done now though. She is almost 5 foot 8 just for reference.
I was also done growing at 14, an 8 1/2 and 5 foot 7.

DD has worn the same shoe size since the end of 8th grade so hopefully she is done-at least when I need to buy her shoes. My feet grew a size and a half when I was pregnant with the twins. DS15 isn't done yet at size 11 1/2.

A child's size 3 is the same as a women's size 5. A child's 4 is a women's 6.
It can be a bit confusing when they reach that in-between sizes stage.

I was a size 10 when I was 12. My feet stayed that way until college when I was working on hard concrete floors. I jumped to a 10 1/2. After my kids were born, I generally wear an 11 in tennis shoes, and 10-10 1/2 in dress shoes. (depends a lot on the designer)

I got my Uggs a few years ago (before kids) and I'm still in them just fine.

DD is 12 and wears a size 7 1/2- 8, depending on manufacturer. She has really slowed down- she hasn't gone up in size in 6 months or so- but I expect her feet to grow a bit more, since she hasn't gone through full puberty yet. Mostly, girls stop growing about a year to 18 months after puberty.

I was just thinking about this. DS14 is into a Men's size 11, and I HOPE HOPE HOPE he is just about done. He is almost 6 feet as well. When does this stop? He seems to be still growing, as his school uniform pants are getting short.

Normally we make it to XMAS break, and I have the hems taken down. He wears them until June, and by April/May they look like floods.

You've still got a LOT to go, sorry to say... boys growth doesn't completely stop until they are out of their teens. I remember my mom having to buy new jeans every 3 months for my brother between the ages of 13- 16 or so. He slowed way down but continued to put on at least an inch or so per year until his second year of college!! He also filled out a lot- went from really tall and scrawny in HS to tall and built in college.

My nephew is 15 and is showing no signs of slowing down- he wears a mens size 15 shoe, and just hit 6'2". :scared1: His older brother is a junior in college and just stopped getting taller about a year ago.

I know my feet grew like crazy when I went through my growth spurt. They went from a kids 2 to a kids 4 :rotfl:

By the time I was pretty much done growing, I was a women's 7, and still am.

I have one child who I sometimes wonder if she will ever make it to women's sizes (I know she will, sooner or later, I hope..). She is 12 and was a little kids 13 for 3 years, just moved in to a 1 this year. She's also 4'7" and 67 pounds, though, so small all around. My dd10, on the other hand is currently in a women's 7.5, she was in a womens 5.5 last year, so went up 2 sizes in just over a year. She does seem to have slowed down in the past 6 months a little, but we'll see how long it lasts, I'm not holding my breath.

I don't think a children's size 3 and women's size 5 are actually that different. I wear a 6.5-7 in women's but I can also wear a 4 in children's. She may not be growing as much as it appears (which is good news for both of you!).

My dd10 wears a 7 1/2 W in women's without much growing room. She is almost 5ft tall. At 11, I wore 6 1/2, at 14 I wore 9s, and currently 9 1/2 to 10s.

Late bloomers finish later and generally end up taller and with bigger feet! My 16 y.o. has just leveled out at 10.5, she is 5'9" and not finished yet I don't think. She did not shoot up until well into her 14th year.

On the height thing. My 18 y.o. just shot up another inch to 5'9" after a long time at 5'8". That was weird...thought she was done! She has little feet for such a tall girl, size 8. Her feet did not change.
