Hello! I'm planning a disneyland trip for the end of July (the 26th and 27th) and want to take full advantage of fastpasses. I was just wondering when do fastpasses generally run out for the day (in both parks)? And what rides generally run out of fastpasses first? I know there's huge variation between rides.....estimates for any of the fp rides would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!! :)

In the summer I would say Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run would be the 2 to run out first in each park. As far as when they run out those 2 can run out by lunch time or just after when the park opens at 8 am.

When I was there like 2 weeks ago,

Space ran out in the early-mid afternoon
Indy about the same time
Splash's doesn't really run out because a lot of people don't want really late times, but during the middle part of the day Splash's FP time frame goes by really quickly.
Soarin runs out mid-late afternoon and Screamin too.

Other rides probably won't run out of FP or if they do, not until late at night.

I have had the same experience. Space and Indy go first their return times get to be late by noon. We always grab those first and even get seconds if we can! LOL

I agree with this overall. When we went a few weeks ago, it appeared that Soarin's were going out way quicker than Screamin's, but it wasn't an unbearably busy day either.

I THINK Mullholand Madness's FPs run out very quickly. I've never been on because I've never taken the time out of my day to hurry and get a FP for it, but since it's so low-capacity I think they would go pretty quick.

If you grab a FP at 8am when you arrive you can get another around 9am. These are good to save for a little later on when it is more crowded. Definately get Soarin FPs as soon as you enter DCA. They seemed to go faster than Screamin. Grizzly also went fast on hot days, so do that second or first. We were able to get on MM with 5 min wait once. I think that was Sunday.

Space has many many breakdowns and while you should get FPs for it (don't ride without them) you may loose it if the ride shuts down after they take it. This happened several times and they were not giving out any sort of compensation but said to go to City Hall. We had tons of FPs anyway, so didn't bother. Buzz was a good one to grab FPs to later on in the afternoon. They didn't run out fast and the line can get long.

Yeah, because Screamin's line moves so fast, Soarin' goes by faster. By early afternoon on a weekday, the return time was already around 9-10pm.

This is such a good strategy. In the morning, when the crowds are lighter, you can gather FPs much faster. Do that all before noon, and then you can leave for a afternoon break and come back and hop on all the rides.

That's something we forgot to do. :headache:

I have seen Space Mountain run out of such before noon. And Indy, later in the day. Which is why I like to collect my fast passes in the morning, and continue to do so over the course of the day.

Using these strategies, we were able to obtain a total of 9 FPs in one day on our last trip! 9 Too bad that the rides were like always closed when we went to go use them later in the day.

Yeah, that kept happening to us to. We ended up getting an awful lot of buzz FPs because they were available later on when others were not. We didn't go on Autotopia. We figured we just drove 8 hours to get there and didn't need to "drive" anymore. :rotfl: So we went on Buzz a lot and improved our scores. :)

In August 2006 we used 12 FP sets between DL and DCA one day, and could have had a couple more but the FP machines for BTMRR broke down early evening. :cool2:

Yeah, none of those 9 were BLAB, Autopia, Roger Rabbit or MM, the "lesser" FP rides.

Always trying to one up on me, huh? ;) :lmao: Although I guarantee August 06 was a lot less crowded than June 09.

Sounds like a challenge to me! ;)

As many of you know, DIS DLR is a much friendlier forum than some others. For purely FYI I posted the 12 FP thing on MiceChat in 2006 as a new thread. And guess what? I got flamed! :confused3

In any case, we did park hop that day. Started at DL, ended at DL, and hopped to DCA twice (my DS13 wanted to sneak in one more Screamin ride - hence the second hop).
