I am a TA. I was given two different answers on the TA line. Many times TA's are informing CM's - so I still wouldn't say this is set in stone. The TA FB page is also all over the place with people being told different things. Bottom line: until an official announcement is made nobody really knows.

Someone else posted this too, but if you look on the details of each of these three, they are listed as a part of the Disney Dining on Thanksgiving Day event. If you try and book on Thanksgiving Day, the entitlement is 2 credits, if you try a different day its only one!

I wasn't trying to shoot the messenger, sorry. It's just the people who answer the phones (on any Disney line) are not a reliable source of information.

Okay, that kind of makes sense. I was seeing a post here and there about these credit changes being "around" Thanksgiving (which could mean anything from Thanksgiving day to all of November AND December!). Having it be just ON Thanksgiving, while still a change from what the dining plan was supposed to be, is at least a very limited basis.

Sample booking for September. Click on the "Select Disney Dining Plans..."

Shows only 1 credit for lunch

Book for Thanksgiving Day and click on "Select Disney Dining..."




Shows as 2 credits

Well today breakfast is listed as 8:00-10:55 am. I would check the home page for Tusker pulling up day you booked and it shows hours.

I'm so glad we go OOP now. I enjoyed using the dining Plan back when we were not DVC (even moreso when it was free) but it's so complicated now and frustrating.

well if that is the case (only thanksgiving), then the matrix should still say 1 credit with an asterisk, and the footnote saying something to the effect of "Meal is a 2 Credit meal on Thanksgiving"

Not putting it up as 2 credits for every other day of the year.

Oh, it is most definitely a poorly communicated thing. I just don't think it's anything more than that. Right now.

The ONLY thing we know is that NO ONE knows what the truth is here.

It could be just for Thanksgiving or Dining Packages BUT that means IT neglected to input an entirely new line into the system but instead just boosted the every day credit. It would be a huge programmer error because it is simply too easy to do it right. It should have been fixed already. So why does it still say what it says ..... this is very simple programming to be done.

Nothing any of us say on any of these threads is "official" information from Disney.
So far their CMs answers are all over the place, but again phone CMs aren't usually in the know.
I'm not saying it's coming true and no one can say it isn't true.
For whatever reason, a programmer went into the system and made the change.

Given what we have seen for the last year from Disney, no surprise if true.

I know there are 2 threads going on about this, so if the Mods want to merge, go for it.

To us, the 2 credit meal is not so completely about the cost either, but also about NOT getting an opportunity to eat somewhere else. Dining at Disney is somewhat just as much fun as the parks. And each year we have a short list of locations we just couldn't fit in—be it time, location, or not enough credits. Now, if you are taking 2 credits up for certain locations, then that is another location I am NOT visiting. Yes, I could pay OOP, but I'm not fond of doing both OOP and DP—too much to keep track of already.

When I checked my reservations it was posting them as all 1 credit meals. Guess I will be patient and see if they will keep it that way. When increasing prices do they usually honor reservations already made?

I made several reservations and one of them is at Askershus for breakfast so I am assuming I am ok even if it did go up . But still I never received a email confirmation on my reservation but I do see it in my MDE should I call and ask for a confirmation just in case? I booked back on April 30th with 1 credit still on the plan so I hope it's just for Thanksgiving. Just checked on my MDE and it still says 1 credit

It could be an easy programming thing, but assuming that that "2" isn't hard coded, but rather is pulling from a database, the programming behind it could be looking for whatever the last or greatest value in a table is - probably the same table that is feeding the information to the dated reservation pages. (Wow, long sentence...) Since the page we're looking at does not have any relation to dates, they aren't able to say "If the date is Thanksgiving Day, display '2', otherwise display '1'". The page doesn't have that information. I'm sure they could recode the page to look for a Thanksgiving date in the dining plan table, then find the previous credit value and display that in the table, then add a ** Thanksgiving Meal 2 Credits ** line or something, but it's not just editing a single value.

But anyway, I'm just happy that I have alternate reservations I'm happy with if something does change.

We had reservations a couple years ago at 10:35 so we got to eat breakfast and lunch. It was pretty neat because the breakfast was mostly your typical breakfast but lunch has a variety of foods from Africa. We left there stuffed and ready to tackle the rest of the day.

I have Tusker House breakfast in August for the Jungle Book package on the dining plan.

If it goes to 2 credits, I will cancel.
