When are you Putting your Christmas Tree Up ??

Yeah, you're tree looks fab Jodie.

In a few weeks I'm going to start a thread where we can all show off our Christmas Trees and decorations when we've put them up

I always start to decorate my classroom at work on the 1st December so I might do my house the same day. I just realised I am away the 3rd - 4th December for my SIL's hen weekend (we are going to a spa for the weekend!) Then the weekend after we are having our family Christmas meal as we will be in WDW for Christmas and 6 members of our family will be in Australia! So my house has to be ready for then. Although if I see any decorations going up in our street the weekend of the 27th I might put mine up then instead seen as I will have to take my tree down on the 18th as I don't really want to be taking it down when we get back from WDW. I'll leave my outside lights up and my wreath on the door though so it looks like someone is home at least. Plus I think I will leave the few pieces out we put in the living room. They shouldn't take too long to put away as soon as we get back.

We won't be putting up a tree this year. I'm not able to walk for a while due to surgery.

The holidays will be spent at the childrens' house this year. Goody for them !!!!

We must be the first on the Disboards in the UK.

I put one tree (6ft 6inches) up in the conservatory last Sunday (06/11/05) and yesterday we put the main tree up in the lounge (7ft).

The one in my study will go up next Saturday!!

As we're off to WDW for Christmas this year (and I've had an operation on my leg) I will not be putting up any outside lights this year.

We have so many lights on our trees I normally phone the National Grid to advise them of the "switch-on" beforehand. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Why do we do this so early? Don't really know - have always loved Christmas and always will. I can't blame the children beause I was lioke this before they were born.

Friends of ours in South Wales have put theirs up on 01-November for as long as I can remember.

Happy Christmas to all !!

Wow, that is early David, please take some photos for when I start the new thread showing off our Christmas Trees. I am so looking forward to putting mine up a week on Saturday

Spotted this coming back from meeting last night. House in the town has all their decorations up, both inside and outside. Now that's early :goodvibes

Must've been mine. 99% finished inside and out. Like to have it done by Thanksgiving. And with the unseasonably warm weather last week, got to the outside lights(though I haven't turned them on yet!). This week we have highs only in the 30's so I'm glad I'm not out there now doing it.

Have now decided to put ours up on november 30th. I will be working all day on the 1st of december and in the evening we are going to DD's school christmas fair. it has to be up for the 1st so i will have to put it up the day before :) will put the lights up outside on the weekend :Pinkbounc

On 'This Morning' they were showing off those new black Christmas Trees - personally I don't like them. They're probably great for some designer house or batchelor pad, but they don't look like a nice family tree - so does anyone like them ??

I agree with you, Mandymouse - the black trees are OK (I would have loved one during my Gary Numan phase in the early 1980's!) but I much prefer my traditional green tree. This year we're using the 2 artificial trees for the last time before giving them hopefully to charity - I'd like a nice big real tree next year (but will have to watch out for the 'needles in the feet torture'!)

Cheers (can't wait to look at everyone's photos)

3 days and counting .................... I'm soooo excited

BTW Kaylee are you putting your tree up before BabyUK arrives ???

DH says we will do it the first weekend in Dec - the Saturday being the 3rd and Baby UK is due on the 2nd. So who knows

I am bored so I could do it now ;)

I have just spent 2 hours this morning re-arranging my furniture and having a good old clean up ready for putting it up tomorrow. :)

Two questions: How long does it take for you guys to put up the outside lights? and 2. Do any of you know of outdoor electrical sockets that we can use?

I love my christmas tree it is seven feet tall and decked in gold and red and lots of disney decos i usually put it up the 6th dec but i don't know what to do this year because we have just had 2 mischievious kittens so instead of having an angel on top i may have a tabby cat!!!!!

OK, my tree is up and I have taken some photos, so when hubby gets back from work I will download them for you to see
