I agree with that. There are some people who feel obligated to interject their political beliefs in any circumstance. It is as if they are fighting a battle to win the internet, can't possibly allow the "other side" to have the imaginary advantage and therefore feel compelled to tell them that they are wrong. Getting angry about someone else's opinion seems irrational to me.
There are some binary thinkers out there who have created definitive sides and are too rigid to accept or allow meaningful conversation. The threads about race come to mind as I cannot imagine any meaningful conversation happening when the default position is to label someone a racist at the first sign of disagreement. There is no room for nuance. Just call someone a racist, pat yourself on the back for being a better person, claim victory, and rest easy that night with the self-satisfaction that you have outed your racist for the day.
