Hi, my husband has an ankle injury (healing from a torn Achilles). We are going to WDW next month and he won't be able to walk through the parks all day. Can someone please direct me on info of how I can get him a wheel chair or scooter and how it works with picking them up etc. do you get a new one each day? Take it back to the hotel? How much is it? Dino need any Dr info? I'm on Dis mobile and not really sure where to go to look for this information. If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you

If you want one to use at the resorts and other places other than the parks, then you need to rent from an outside vendor. If you want one only in the parks, then you rent one daily only if there is any available when you get there.

I would rent from a company such as Apple Scooters or one of the others that are on the FAQ's sticky on this forum. You rent one for the length of your trip, it is delivered to your hotel and the company will pick it up at your hotel after your trip. This is the surest way of being sure to have a scooter. At the parks it is a first come/ first served basis only and there are very few and they cost more than from an outside vendor.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including in Post #2 which covers mobility/stamina issues and recommends locations for wheelchair or ECV rental..

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Great thanks!!! I'll be doing some reading tonight! :)

My mom is going with me to WDW Sept 1st-8th. We usually use Walker's Mobility for her ECV, but are trying Apple this time. They seemed to be much cheaper ($135.00, including free insurance for 7 1/2 days). We still highly recommend Walker's too though, but he was over $200.00 for the same time frame.
