What's Your Ringtone?

Walking through the halls at school, I'm always amused by the variety of ringtones everyone chooses for their phones.

What did you choose as a ringtone?

Was this a difficult and carefully weighed decision or just the first thing you liked?

And do you change your ringtones frequently or loyal to the "one" song?


I've had Linus and Lucy (the Peanuts theme) for years and it took me going through basically the entire playlist before I came across it. I'm boring but loyal!

I have a few - I have some caller groups.

My DH's ringtone is "A Whole New World." That was our wedding song.

My Musical Theatre kids are "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.

My mom and dad are "Bop to the Top" from High School Musical.

My "who the heck is calling me tone" is "What's This?" from The Nightmare before Christmas. LOL!

So far, I've been loyal to it for many months.

For my mom, the tone is the monorail voice saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, as you board, please move all the way across your car to make room for everyone. For those of you standing, please hold onto the handrails and stay clear of the doors." and then the old-school, "Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor, mantenganse alejado de las puertas." For calls from home, it's "He's a Pirate" from POTC, and for calls from my brother, it's "Rondo Veneziano," which is supposedly from the Italy pavilion, but I've never heard it there. I just love the song.

Oh, and for calls from friends, I have "Mean to Me," by Crowded House. There's no particular reason; I just dig the song a LOT.

Until just this past weekend it was Zip A Dee Doo Dah, now it is Free Bird.

One more: for text messages, I have the creepy "Dead men tell no tales," from the POTC attraction, and for alarms/alerts, I have, "No fear of evil curses says you...well feast your greedy eyes on this here treasure and mark well me words: properly warned ye be, says I," which is from the original soundtrack of the POTC attraction in DL, but I don't think it was ever used. I could be wrong, though.

I'm bummed, though. I really, really want the Harry Potter theme, but I have a Verizon lg vx4500 and I can't get it that I know of. I would also LOVE the monorail bit. How did you get that? With my phone, I probably can't. Anyone a phone/ringtone expert and can help me?

For my old high school boyfriend, it's Rapid Hope Loss by Dashboard Confessional (he never calls me, but when we were dating it was Such Great Heights by The Postal Service, so after we broke up I felt obligated to change it to something bitter )

For my mom, it's the theme from Fantasmic

For my parents it's Cheap Trick's Surrender:

I use to always have Under the Sea. But got a new phone and they didnt offer Disney ringtones, at first. I just got a Tinkerbell wallpaper. Checked to see if they had Disney ringtones. They had Under The Sea. But DH said you should use caution. You dont want to seem like a Disney Geek in public. (well, not exactly like that.) So, I choose. Gwen Stefani "sweet escape" Problem is, I cant always hear it.
