Well, mine is try walking! We usually stay at BW, and find walking is the quickest way to get to MGM and Epcot. Think of it this way, the distance from your room to the boat dock going towards MGM would give you a real big head start on the boat, plus you are not waiting for the boat either. And it is good exercise to boot!
As far as bus tips, when going to BW from MK many times the S/D bus is separete from the Y/BC/BW buses, and not as crowded. It is a short walk from the Swan to BW. And when they are all one bus, getting off at the Swan will get you to BW quicker as well.
Another time we were at MGM and wanted to go to MK. The MK line was so long we probably would not have fit when it came. But the Poly line was empty, and the bus showed up first, so we took that and then walked to MK.
