What's your favorite monorail resort and why?

It's a dream of ours to stay at resort where the monorail stops. Don't see that dream ever coming true but you know Disney World. Who knows! Which is your favorite and why?

I've stayed at all three, and I'd have to say I don't know. I loved the CR, but the new room decor would drive me nuts!! I LOVE the casualness of the Poly, but again, room decor not to my liking. I LOVE the room decor of the GF, but we had a pretty bad experience there in RPC so I kind of a bad taste in my mouth. If I had to choose from those three, I'd probably give the GF a try, but not in a concierge room, only a regular room. If I was planning a concierge stay, then the Poly would win.

Contemporary. Love the walkway to the Magic Kingdom. It is a really nice stroll. I guess I also like this hotel for sentimental reasons. It is one of the originals and feels very Disney to me. I enjoy watching the monorail stream through the hotel concourse. Very cool indeed! Also the beach, pool, and Bay Lake views are wonderful!

So far it is the Contemporary. Stayed there Easter of '73 and summer of '75 with my parents; I have the happiest of memories of them there! I then stayed there with my wife and son in '93 and '95, making new memories. However, I suspect that I'm going to change to Polynesian this October - my wife and I have a romantical 'empty-nester' vacation there this fall: Lagoon View Concierge, courtesy of FairyTale Package. Tiki torches, sandy beaches, quiet paths - can't wait!

Have only stayed at the CR and someday, hey I can wish upon a star, I hope to stay there again. The rooms which alot of people do not like, I did not mind. It was the first time in 15 years DH and I went away alone without the DCherubs and it was pure magic! I loved the walk and we had a room facing the lake to watch the water parade.

Wow! I'm surprised to see how many people chose CR - well that's my choice too. We've stayed at the GF too which was beautiful but we're just more comfortable at the Contemporary. We love the pool, Food & Fun, the arcade (our kids favorite) Chef Mickey's, the tower, the wings, the marina, the ducks, the pool bar, Concourse Steakhouse, the monorail, the shops, the beach - heck we love the whole darn place. It doesn't hurt that we have many great family memories there. Seems this is how it is with the Contemporary - you either love it or hate it.

We stayed at the Poly in 2001. It was beautiful and convenient!
Staying on the monorail path is the best, especially when visiting in the summer and with a child. We are staying at the GF in August. Can't wait! Although it seems a bit fancy, we will try it anyway. It is worth the extra money.
