What's your Favorite Appetizer?

Fried green beans are my jam, but they're not found everywhere. I do like a good calamari, though.

I was stumped as well! Never thought brussel sprouts could be so good until I tried them fried lol! They are a pretty popular appetizer around here.

Oh no, I didn't explain myself well. That was a "hhmmmm" of happiness. Roasted/sauteed/fried brussel sprouts are super popular app around here too. It tends to be more seasonal (all my places I walk to are local, and daily menus) so I haven't had any lately and they sound so good. I make them a ton at home in the fall. I totally agree with you - DELICIOUS!

I'm not as high falooting as some folks on this thread. I like mozza sticks or potato skins. Recently I tried spinach dip and it might be my new favourite.

Mozz sticks are solid. I'll get them pretty much anytime I'm at a bar drinking. Love me some yummy mozz sticks!

Lately we have been all about the fried pickles.
I like pan seared tuna. I also like wings and nachos but tend to get them as my meal. Asian, I like Dumplings.

I've tried to make them fried, roasted, or sauteed at home, but I can't find a recipe that comes out as good as in the restaurant!

Mine turn out, but brussels and a glass of wine for happy hour at like $12, is way better than washing dishes:)

Pretzel sticks and beer cheese.

Nachos.

Hot crab dip.

Very occasionally we will get wings but only in some restaurants.

I love appetizers ... usually more than an entree so sometimes I'll just get 2 of those. :)

Favorites, depends on where I am. My usual suspects include shrimp cocktail, calamari, ahi tuna, wings, potato skins, flatbread.

A drink usually. I rarely get an appetiser. The exception would be if there was nothing of interest on the dessert menu.

Oysters - raw in the half shell. I've learned how to shuck them myself. Doesn't really need anything except maybe a slice of lemon, lime, or Tabasco. I like variety too. Pacifics, Kumamoto, Atlantic. When I was in the Seattle area I found one of the few places that was farming Olympia oysters. They were good, but tiny as heck.

Other than that - something simple like chips and salsa/guacamole or onion rings. I like it when the onion rings comes before the entree.

No solid favorite. In fact, sometimes we get a sampler platter just so we don't have to decide!

If I had to pick just one, probably calamari.

Raw oysters with a squeeze of lemon, hot sauce, and horseradish.

Calamari, poutine or cheese fries, nachos, chips and guacamole (only if it's made fresh tableside). I also have an unabashed love for the bloomin onion at Outback--especially that sauce!

An all-time favorite has to be at pne of my favorite restaurants in Vegas--pigs in a blanket that are amazing!

I love snacky, appetizer type foods and will commonly order one as my meal unless I'm in a steakhouse or fancy restaurant.
