Can someone tell me what I have to do to see Fantasmic? I read an old thread that talked about booking a dinner/show etc.. There isn't anything on the web site that points out that i need to pre-book this. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I found this on deb's here's a link http://allearsnet.com/din/fantdin1.htm

If you don't mind waiting in line then you don't really need to book the package, but I don't know much about it, from what I've read many people enjoy not having to wait in the regular line. And what the people are talking about is the fanstasmic package, You pay for dinner and then you go watch fantasmic, the link will explain if your interested.

You don't need to book a dinner package to be able to see Fantasmic. They typically start letting people into the show 45 minutes (someone correct me if I'm wrong) before the show starts. All you have to do is be on the line and grab a seat, and enjoy the show!

Depending on how crowded it is when you go and whether there is two showings at that time or not, you need to arrive at the ampitheater up to 1 1/2 hrs. in order to get a seat. Booking the dinner package guarantees you a spot in a special section, as long as you get there 1/2 hr. before show time. When we were there in May, we got there just over an hour before show time, (but it never did look like the ampitheater completely filled up), and enjoyed just sitting down and visiting while we waited, also brought in our supper that we got from a Counter Service window and ate it while we waited. I believe that they also have a place where you can get food in the ampitheater as well. It is my impression that during the slow times of year, you won't necessarily have to get there as early.

Aye, they opened between 45 mins and an hour before the show last week, and everyone got in fine. One of the hosts there did mention that you have to queue longer than that on really busy times though. Everyone got in when we were there, and there was still about 1/4 of the place empty too.

The reserved seating for dinner package people is two rows, dead center, at the very back and has an excellent view. The show is pretty spectacular, and well worth the wait.

Thanks everyone, i get it now. So where is the best place to sit, if we grab our CS meal and get in early for a seat?

No, you don't have to book a dinner res to see Fantasmic. However, we did that back in May (at H & V) and it worked out great. You don't pay any extra so if you are planning to eat at MGM, I'd recommend it. There is a separate entrance for those with the pkg and when we did, there was no line to get in at all.

you want to sit somewhere near the center area for the best view.. but the theater is designed to try to make the best experience for everybody.

We saw it once on the far left side, the view wasn't very good, I would say get there early enough so you have a middle seat. IMO the side seat are a waste because your looking at things from the side angle.

We sat on the side the last time we were there and it wasn't bad at all. I'd rather sit on the side than have to wait an hour for the show to start.

I prefer to sit just off center so you have a straight view at the water screens. If its windy be sure to sit upwind so you dont get wet (unless you like to get wet.)

Did they change this recently? When we went last year the reserved section was all the way to the right of the theater.

I guess it did because we just saw it a few days ago and the package seats were in the front.
And to add to it we had seats one over from the far side and they were great, plus we were on the opposite side of the wind so we didnt get wet lol.

We went last year (March '05) and the reserved section was center and right. We got great seats on the left-side of the section, so they were pretty well-centered. FYI, we ate at H&V and thought it was a good restaurant.

We do the dinner plan. Got to eat anyway. :Pinkbounc
