What's up with Billy Joel?

His daughter is probably of driving age now so perhaps there is no need for Christie to pursue it anymore.

hillbeans, I was 16 when I got my license. and there were many times I was a passenger in my parents' car long after that.

Alexa was 17 when Christie took the photos of Billy's 2002 accident. old enough to have her own license even then.

Good point...I guess then I should have said she's now an adult in the court's eyes and perhaps there is nothing Christie can do otherwise. Before, she was still considered a "minor".

First, I would like to say that yes, I am a huge Billy Joel fan. In fact, a few days ago, we were talking about this incident at the dinner table, trying to explain to my FIL just who Billy was--and then I looked down and realized I was wearing one of my many Billy concert tees! I hadn't done so intentionally--it was just what I pulled out of the drawer that morning. :smooth:

That being said, I have really been trying to look at the posts on this thread objectively. I do not automatically believe Billy is 100% innocent. He does have a problem with alcohol, and, as much as I admire him, I was very disturbed when I heard him on an interview after his rehab stint telling the reporter he "had no problem." Hmm, can you say "denial?" It ain't just a river in Egypt, my friend. :sad2:

However, I think it is very wrong for people to assume he was drunk the day of this incident because he has been in rehab. From what I understand, he does not have a drunk driving record. He has been in three accidents, but he was never arrested for DWI or DUI. This doesn't mean he wasn't drunk; he could have been, for all we know. But, maybe the conditions were bad. Maybe he's a sucky driver. :hyper: The point is, we don't know. It's just not fair to assume anything at this point, IMHO.
