What's the Worst Restaurant in all of WDW?

we had a horrible meal at the Garden Grill= the catfish, chicken even the green beans were drenched in grease, tasteless and the service of awful!!!!! We will never go back to the Garden Grease- even with Mickey there

For us the worst is Crystal Palace. Easily the worst food we have had on any trip and bad service to match. We have ate there twice with the same result. Last time we were on the DDP and the waitress brought our drinks and never came back to clear plates or bring refills but she managed to bring the bill with a $35 tip included. Had to talk to the manager and he eluctantly dropped it to $10 which was still about $9.99 to high for the service.

Our favorite is Wolfgang Puck in DTD for dinner and probably Chef Mickey's for Breakfast

Agreed - dined there this August - we have now given CP 3 chances - now it's 3 strikes and you're out! We probably had the same server - terrible - we tipped only 10% instead of the 20% we had given in other places and that was too much but felt we had to make a 'stand'

The worst CS is Electric Umbrella - what a dirty hole - you can smell the restrooms from the restaurant.

Our favorites are some of the ones mentioned on this thread - Le Cellier, Cape May, Coral Reef and 1900 Park Fayre - but a poor server can make or break a meal IMHO - we were fortunate enough to get some great ones this past trip and some great food. I believe that everyone is different that's why there are so many food choices in WDW - I am always willing to read reviews but then will always give the restaurant at least one shot, if the menu looks good and make up my own mind.

The hands down worst experience EVER was at the Restaurant Marrakesh in Morrocco on our last trip. Worst service EVER and the food.. UGH, I was in the bathroom loosing it before we even left the restaurant. HORRIBLE. I felt so bad we had to leave and go back to the hotel. Never again.

So far, imo, it was The Lunching Pad. The wrap was pretty bad, but edible, but the worst part? I had a side of grapes and they were all rotten.

We don't like Tony's Town Square or ABC Commissary. YUCK! On the other hand, we really love 'Ohana and LeCellier.

I love reading people's responses to these kinds of questions. If everyone like the same things, this world would be a very boring place! :)

One of our worst meals last week was chef mickey's dinner :crazy2: . It has always been of my kids favorites but the food was not good.

I agree. In the past it wasn't our favorite because the food was too plain for our tastes. But at least in the past the food was good quality. WE dined there at th end of September, and I found the food quality greatly diminshed. the service was actually quite good, and the character interaction was significantly improved. Gone though was most of the fresh fruit (theyused to have strawberries, I think). Gone were most of the salad veggies (what kind of salad bar does have tomato, carrot or cucumber?). All the salad bar veggies had been replaced by starches like potato salad and pasta salad. The beef was inedible. The ice cream als tasted cheap - but I don't really recall whet it was like in the past.
The only food that was good - and by good I mean cute - was Mickey ravioli that didn't recall seeing before. The mac and cheese, while still mickey pasta, was now the cardboard from-a-box kind they have all over, not the homemade real cheese kind much of WDW used to serve just a few years ago.

WE also found the new Tusker house to be equally bad - not nearly as good as the original QS menu.

Our worst dining experiences would have to be the ABC Commissary, Electric Umbrella and Cosmic Rays.

It's interesting the interpretations of "worst restaurant". Some of the opinions are based on one single bad experience, rather than a cross-section of experiences, which makes it hard to say "worst restaurant ever" and should be more like "worst personal dining experience ever".

Not that I would expect someone to go back and "try again" at a restaurant that was so horrible for them!! LOL But it feels like the most accurate title for this thread would be to explore people's individual worst dining experiences, rather than passing judgement on the restaurant as a whole. Does that make sense?

So I will amend mine to say that my worst dining experiences in the world have all been at the ABC Commissary, which I have tried three times now and will never go back to. I forget what we had the first time, but we tried the chicken and the fish the next two times. Greasy, no flavor, and the place has no character. But we were kind of up a tree when we couldn't get in anyplace else that was indoors on a hot afternoon (we didn't want pizza at Pizza Planet, which we usually do). Any recommendations for CS indoors on a hot day in DHS?

And my one trip to Coral Reef was waaaay too noisy (bad parenting going on all over the place, at 9:00 at night--put them to bed!), food was poor quality, and price tag too high (though I always make a note that it was beautiful in there and the server was really lovely).

Cape May Cafe-Clam Bake Dinner was our worst. It was packed (but it was free dining at the time), poorly set up square buffet, seafood buffet server not friendly at all, seafood is lacking in options, quality & flavor.

To me, the term Restaurant means sit down, full service meal. Buffets and Counter service meals should be evaluated separately.

That said, our worst experiences far:

Sit down, full service meal: Sci-Fi (however, we also had a great experience here - so the two negated each other)

Buffet: Hollywood & Vine ... Ho Hum food. Way overpriced, server's tip was more than he deserved - seen happier and more helpful folk working at walmart for 1/4 of his tip.

Counter Service: Cosmic Rays... Ick. Dirty. Hot. Crowded. Seen way nicer McDonald's.

We've tried San Angel Inn 3 times, and while it's not the worst food in the world, for us it's the worst food in the World.

For CS, we'll NEVER go back to Rosie's in DHS. Those burgers made McD's look like gourmet food :scared1: . (Although, let's face it, DHS really hasn't got what we'd consider a great restaurant, outside of the too expensive Brown Derby. DHS could use something like EOS--now that would be fantastic!!!)

Speaking in terms of the quality of the food only (not value, price, atmosphere, service, etc.) I have to say two bad meals stand out: Sci-Fi and Mama Melrose. Every person in our group said their food was horrible.
However, I will say that my DD still talks about eating in the cars at the drive-in, so we did get our money's worth from that respect!

We haven't eaten at a ton of Disney table service but Crystal Palace for dinner was not someplace we'd do again for DINNER. Although the service we had at dinner was great they even had the table decorated for younger son's birthday and the server was excellent. We just didn't care for the selections, again not the worst restaurant.

I will say we went into the Electric Umbrella last Feb and I had heard horrible things about it and it was very clean, no stinky bathrooms etc. Not spectacular but not nasty at all.

You can choose to eat either indoors or out at the Backlot Express. Seating at Pizza Planet is also indoors.
