What's the Worst Restaurant in all of WDW?

One of our worst meals last week was chef mickey's dinner :crazy2: . It has always been of my kids favorites but the food was not good.

For me, there are several ways to define "worst"...And these are my opinions. Others may feel differently.

Worst, in terms of not meeting expectations based on the hype here - Kona.

Worst in terms of an actual food item that was gross - the hamburgers at Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Although we had an absolute blast and will go back again. We'll just stick to the hot dogs and ribs next time. The kids macaroni and cheese found throughout WDW property is a close second.

Worst, in terms of value for the money - Tutto Italia. The food was fine, but I would never go there if paying out of pocket. Waaay overpriced, even for Disney.

Worst in terms of service - for me, the Play and Dine breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. 2 times in a row we had a terrible server...and it was a buffet, so obtaining coffee and the check should not be as much of a struggle as it was.

Worst in terms of atmosphere - Garden Grill. We sat on the upper level, so there was no view of "The Land", only "The sky". And while the place is rotating and you're in the front, it's LOUD and I felt like I was much too on display for the people that were waiting. Add to that a less than stellar server and it wasn't a great time for us.

I agree that this is all about personal opinions. Two examples are I always hear how people hate WCC and Chef Mickey's which we happen to love!!!

BUT, I will add my opinion stating that it is just that, my opinion. I had only had two very bad dining experiences in our many visits. One came many years ago at Garden Grill. The food was not awful, but not great and very cold and the service was horrible. I got back to the room and wondered why I didn't complain (I would have in any restaurant not in Disney, so why not in Disney?) So I called and left a message for the manager, by the time we touched base with each other we were home, but he offered us a free dinner when we returned. We went back 2 years later and he gave us the free dinner (which was wonderful and we would not say was on our worst list) for our whole group including my grandparents who had not been there the previous trip. (We tried to pay for them but he said NO!) Clearly we had hit them on an "off" night the first time, but it was nice that they offered to make up for it.

Our other bad meal is a place that I will not go back to, but I hear people love it. I won't go back because the food made us feel sick litterally, and have not gotten over it. It was on our last trip and we went to ABC Commisary. I also complained and though we were on the DDP, were given the actual money back as the manager agreed the food was a problem and did not know how to add the credits back. The food was bad enough that he agreed he woudn't want to eat it; in particular, some of the family had fish and didn't notice until they started eating that some of the tartar sauce had turned. Some of the packets were while as they should be, some were grey and watery. ICK! The lomein was so hard and awful you thought you were eating raw noodles. I don't remember what everyone had, but no one enjoyed any of it.

All and All we have enjoyed our dining experiences very much at disney from the food courts at the AllStars to CRT and everyting in between. Like I said, we all have our different tasebuds, and thank goodness... Imagine how hard ADRs would be to get if we all wanted to go to the same exact places.

I know a lot of people rave about this place, but our last trip Marrakesh in Morocco was just terrible and even unedible for me. I am always open to new foods, but the lamb was just aweful. But, I know a lot of people love it. This is just my humble opinion.

I didn't care for the Skillet at WCC. Others love it, it's all matter of opinion.

Our worst was the Electric Umbrella. DIRTY beyond belief. I might peek my head back in there next time if we are hungry for CS just to see. But that was our worst so far...

Table Service: Ohana, Hoop De Doo Review
Counter Service: Cosmic Ray's

Worst meal I have ever had was at Le Cellier - steak was gristley, looked like an old shoe leather and didn't taste much better either. :sad2:

I forgot all about the Electric Umbrella. We didn't eat there this year but we did last year and it was dirty and the food was not good. I guess its a case of out of sight out of mind!!;)

this one is a tie...i agree with everyone who said sci fi and hollywood and vine. both had blah food and weird atmosphere, IMO. and for CS, it would have to be ABC commissary. DHS just doesn't hold up to the other parks when it comes to dining options. :confused3

Ive never had a bad meal at Disney!, now Ive had ones that i enjoy more then others. I ve had meals at home that i wish Ive never eaten:scared1: , but thats for a another fourm!!:rotfl2:

So...just curious about two I keep seeing come up. What don't people like about them...The Rainforest Cafe and Hollywood & Vine. We were planning to eat at both on our trip in Feb. We enjoyed the Rainforest Cafe when we went last time, granted about 10 years ago.... And we thought our daughter would like to eat with the Playhouse Disney character...hence Hollywood & Vine. So if people could give some specifics, I'd appreciate it!!

We never liked Rainforest Cafe in Chicago or Vegas, so we never bothered at Disney (we find it so-so food and way overpriced). As for Hollywood & Vine, we've done dinner twice and both times it was absolutely horrible: 25 to 30 minute wait past our ADR time, terrible service...took forever to get drinks, plates removed, check at end, food was bland, lukewarm and took forever to refil when something ran out in the buffet line and the place was filthy. Now, you will see that a lot of people like thish place. We love buffets, but this was was just disgusting in our minds. Note, that the characters appear at H&V only at breakfast and lunch, not dinner.

we disliked Crystal Palace for dinner, we had good service but it was the food that was not appealing to us. The salad bar was a mess, so much so that we didnt get anything off of it.

We've had terrible and excellent service at Sci-Fi, but always great food.

We didnt like the Coral Reef but we werent on the dining plan and couldnt see paying their prices so we opted for appetizers, i had lobster bisque which tasted like dirt was in it, and my DF had the smoked platter which was served cold and cold slimy fish was disgusting.
