What's the typical weather during January/February?

We just returned from the Disney cruise and the weather was VERY cold in Orlando (for Florida) the day we left which was January 25th. I know it's been unseasonable cold down there lately. But I'm wondering what the typical weather is like around this time of the year?

Is it generally warm enough in January and February to have a fairly enjoyable time? The one thing I liked when we stopped at Downtown Disney last week before catching a flight home, was the fact that it wasn't terribly crowded (I've heard these months are generally a slower time for WDW).

Thanks!

Deb

We've been going the last two weeks in January for the past 10-12 years (I've lost count but I know we began going in the early 90s)

There was only ONE week that we went and needed long pants and sweatshirts for the entire time.

We have been going for two weeks for many years now and almost always hit a day or two that are good enough for swimming.

Generally however the weather is in the low-mid 60's to mid 70's which I find is perfect for doing the parks especially without the crowds.

We left Orlando to fly home on January 31st, but had we stayed that day we definitely would have headed to Typhoon Lagoon. I think it hit 80 on the 30th, but we were doing MK and Epcot that day.

Hi Deb,

We have been twice in January. In 1998, it was so warm (80's) that they opened Blizzard Beach which was being closed for rehab work. In 2001, the weather got down to freezing most nights of our stay and we need long pants and jackets.

I would tell you to be ready for a bit of both, but mostly chefk the weather forecasts right before you go.

BTW, we still had a great trip in 2001 despite the weather. We rode Splash Mountain five times straight on an E-Ride night with no (or almost no) waiting. We also did Typhoon Lagoon one day even though it probably was not over 70.
