What's the smallest commercial airport you've used?

Probably Helena, Mt. I tried to look up how many gates they have but it just shows a "passenger waiting area," so I think there are no gates. Not sure, maybe some MT residents can clarify.

Presque Isle, Maine. It's pretty much one room. Last time I was there, I checked in at the counter and asked when TSA would open. The counter agent said, "Oh, I think I'll open now" and walked over to the one scanner and flipped the sign to open. I guess there are technically two rooms, because after the TSA station, you walk through the door to a smaller room until it's time to board. Then you walk out the door and up the plane steps. The woman who checked me in and ran TSA was the mother of the flight attendant. As much as I don't like to fly and detest tiny airplanes, I'm so sad my route involving Presque Isle was discontinued last year- saved me 12 hours of driving each way, and the plane flies low enough for a spectacular view of the top of Mount Katahdin.

Aspen, Co
Mobile business airport. 2 gates and used stairs for and aft for boarding

Reykjavik Airport - It was basically just a room, no security or gates or anything. One single check in counter. You just walked out to the tarmac when they called your flight.

TF Green in Providence (really Warwick) back in the '80's. Pretty sure it's bigger now, but at the time I could walk there with my suitcase from my dorm.

Ayers Rock airport, Australia. It was 10 years ago so I don't remember much except for 1 building, 1 runway in the middle of the Outback.

I've been in a few different airports over the years that had just 2 gates. They may have expanded since I was last at any of them, though.

It does? Where the heck are they? Lol I thought there was just one on the right and one on the left of the little gift shop? My bad, I think I enter some kind of fugue state and just glaze over every time I have to go there. I’m usually just dreading the trip from there to Chapmanville or Logan. I know it’s supposed to be wild, wonderful but I find driving through the mountains of WV super claustrophobic.

Sorry for the misinformation
I agree, especially in the WV Turnpike!

Here in Fort Wayne FWA we have 8 “gates”, but gates 1-4 use the same primary door to a long hallway with 4 doors. There are just two baggage claims.

ART - Watertown, NY....when you enter the front door, you can see everything. 1 "gate" - you must walk outside to board your tiny plane, 2 flights a day - only to Philly and baggage claim is really just the worker handing each bag from the outside to inside.

Not a super small footprint, but the airport at Washington Reagan is really interesting. I saw a documentary once about how you have to be a pretty experienced pilot to land there. The approach has all sorts of protected airspace because of various government issues, so you have to come in relatively steep and then make a really sharp turn right before you land. I never noticed it all that much as a passenger, but I guess as a pilot it’s kind of scary for a commercial airport.

South Lake Tahoe, CA in the 80’s. No gates just walk out on the tarmac and climb the stairs!
