What's the smallest commercial airport you've used?

My local airport is very small considering the population we have, I think there's only about 4 gates. I think most people fly out of LAX to save some money.

I’m only aware of one airport in Naples. I suppose commercial service was reestablished.

The plane I took to Naples from Tampa and back was very small, maybe 15 seats, one seat on each side of the center aisle. There was no separate cockpit; the pilots were in full view of the passengers. The co-pilot gave the safety announcements and loaded/unloaded luggage. No restroom on board either.

I don’t remember the name of the airline, but it was a partner with USAir.

My bad. There's a Naples International Airport (Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli). Obviously not Naples, Florida. Seems pretty cozy.

Santa Fe - one gate, no jetway, the “baggage claim“ is about 10 feet long and just rollers on a platform. You can fly to exactly 2 places, Dallas or Denver. The parking lot is dirt, but at least it’s free!

The airport on Anegada: it was a small building, they asked a few basic security questions, you walked out to the tiny aircraft and handed them the luggage.

In conversation while waiting to board, one of the staff inside found out that my husband is a pilot, so he mentioned that to the pilot when he seated my husband next to the pilot. Yeah, it was a small airplane. Well, the pilot was preflighting, starting to taxi out and was texting at the same time. My husband noticed the guy must have remembered he was sitting next to another pilot because that phone went away after he looked over at him, sat up straighter and suddenly was all business like.

Virgin Gorda BVI. This was back in the late 80s-early 90s. Dirt landing strip, mountains on 3 sides, ocean on the 4th. Spectacular, white knuckle take offs and landings.

For me I'd have to say the one in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory for our cruise/tour there. I think it only has like 2 gates. But I don't know/remember what airports we traveled through when I was young (dad in the Army).

For my husband - Yeager Airport, Charleston, WV for Boy Scout Jamboree.

EDIT: OK, with added information, hubby will have to go with Whitehorse, also. He thought Yeager was pretty small.

Is it a full service airport? You know - with regular security, ticket counter, baggage claim, etc.?

There are some small airlines (like JSX) that operate out of Oakland International Airport's North Field. They operate with small waiting rooms and no requirement for baggage to be checked. No metal detectors. The passengers bring their baggage right on the tarmac and then it gets loaded. That's supposed to be a benefit for time-sensitive travelers.

Yeager Airport has 7 gates.
It does? Where the heck are they? Lol I thought there was just one on the right and one on the left of the little gift shop? My bad, I think I enter some kind of fugue state and just glaze over every time I have to go there. I’m usually just dreading the trip from there to Chapmanville or Logan. I know it’s supposed to be wild, wonderful but I find driving through the mountains of WV super claustrophobic.

Sorry for the misinformation

When my in-laws lived in Gainesville FL we flew into there several times. I think it has 3 gates. I remember one year there was a thunderstorm that shut down the place and we had to drive to Jacksonville to get home.

Gillette Wyoming -- I don't think there were any gates, we just walked out the back door up and up the portable ramp...

I use Niagara Falls, only two gates, very often. And Bangor Maine airport. Tyler Texas. And one in Ontario that is very small.

Not smallest building per se, but SeaTac is squeezed into the smallest area of land of any of the top airports in the United States.

America’s largest commercial airports by acreage | Panethos (wordpress.com)

The list you posted mentions San Diego International Airport but doesn't list the numbers. I looked it up and SAN is on 663 acres compared to the 2500 for SEA. It's just a single runway and many claim it's one of the craziest landings at a major airport because of all the buildings. However, it's still a pretty busy airport.
