Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

Honestly, the nicest suprise that I have received didn't come from a CM. It came from my Father and Mother. We were down there on our vacation with our kids on their first trip and my parents always take the grandkids on a trip which they pay for. That was great in it's on right. Being able to go to WDW and not have to pay for the kids, that's priceless. But it got better. We did 2 character meals on this trip. Both times, my Dad told the waiter or waitres to give him the ticket. He paid for ours as well. That was totally unexpected. I had my wallet out and ready both times but he wouldn't have it. Gotta love that man. Thanks Dad for everything you have done for me.

After driving 12 hours to WDW from central AL in December 04, we (literally) threw our bags in the room and caught a bus to the MK. We ate dinner, rode a couple rides, then off to Main Street for Spectromagic. Well, lo and behold, a CM asked our 6YO daughter to "start" the parade. There she stood, just her and the CM, in the middle of Main Street and when she was told to do so, lowered the lighted wand she'd been given, with a flourish. Off went the lights, and here came the parade. It was a very special moment for her as well as Mom and Dad, and was a wonderful way to begin our week at "Mickey's World". She refers to it as "kazooing" the parade, as in "Ala-Kazam, Ala-Kazoo". We call it Mickey Magic!

Last October on our trip my Julia and Belle at Belle's storytime became fast friends - we went to the show on 3 different days and each time she remembered Julia and on her birthday had everyone sing Happy Birthday to her and really made Julia feel special -

I wrote a letter telling Disney how AWESOME she was and they asked me if they could publish it in the Main street Diary (the cast newsletter) - of course I agreed - we returned just two weeks after the letter was published and so I asked my contact if she knew when our Belle would be there - unfortunately she was performing elsewhere as someone else -

however on tuesday night during our trip a man called from the MK to tell us Belle wanted to see my DD - and we set up a private meet and greet - we met at the castle in a private area on Thursday night and we took a set of bracelets - one said Best and the other Friend - Julia gave the Best one to Belle which she promptly put on and the two sat and chatted for 15 minutes as I snapped away on the camera - then Belle asked if Julia wanted to go for a walk and ride the teacups!!!!!!!! Which they did!! In all they spent 45 minutes together and it was the most AMAZING time!! here are some pics

The nicest thing that has ever happend to me in WDW was last August. I bought a Sony Cybershot 5 mega pixels last July before our trip. This was the first time I had ever used a digital camera that required a memory stick or some form of memory chip. I had always used my Sony CD Mavica which uses mini cd's for picture storage. Anyway our family started our day out at MGM Studios for EMH, once going through the gates of MGM I discoverd that all of my memory sticks were full. So I decided to just go take trip over to the Contemporary to dump my pictures onto a CD and meet my family back at MGM within the next hour. I figured it would be quicker than just leaving my memory sticks with the camera center at MGM. I head out to the Contemp's bus shelters to wait for a bus. While sitting there a the transportation manager (Steve) who is no longer a Disney CM walks up to me and ask me how long I had been waiting for a bus to arrive. I told him about 10 minutes, he then ask me was everything ok because I was the only person at the bus shelter. I told him yes, and that I was just going to the Contemporary to clear my memory sticks. Steve then radios one of the buses over to us. At this time I had no idea what he was doing.

When the bus arrived Steve asked the bus driver who he apparently knew, to change his marquee to "Special" and if he would personally transport me to the Contemporary to clear my memory sticks. Steve and I get on the bus and we are personally driven to the Contemporary. I could not thank both Steve and the driver enough as we are driving over to the Contemporary. I figured the personal ride was great and I'd lucked up. I had no idea Steve was setting up a personal ride to where I needed to go and get what I needed.

Once we get the Contemporary, Steve ask the bus driver if he would wait for us to return and to not let anyone on the bus. He then escorts me to the gift shop, once in the gift shop we found out that the Kodak machine was broken and that the one in the Magic Kingdom was working. We head back to the bus and I'm personally driven to the Magic Kingdom. When we got off of the bus and Steve ask the bus driver if he would wait for us, but if we were not back in 20 minutes to go ahead and continue his route. Steve escorts me into the Magic Kingdom to Exhibition Hall where he waits with me for over an hour for all of my pictures to download to three separate disc. (the Kodak machine in the MK is VERY slow). Once there and realizing we were going to be there for more than 20 minutes Steve starts radioing(sp) another bus to personally pick us up from the MK and transport us back to MGM.

Again I could not thank Steve enough. I kept telling him that he did not have to do this for me, but in the same breath telling him I truly appreciated his kindness and everything he'd done for me. Once he gets us another bus we head back to MGM, we get off of the bus to only find out that it was Steve's last day working for Disney, he was starting a new position the next day close by. I was totally bummed because I wanted DH to meet Steve. Steve helped me out in a very magical way, not only did he help me out, he gave me his card for DH to contact him to pass on his resume so that he could put DH personally in contact with whoever does CM hiring. DH has been doing hotel management for over 10 years now, and Steve really wanted to help DH out, because we were at the time thinking about moving to the Orlando area. I literally start crying because I was touched by his overwhelming kindness. To top things off once I thanked him for the millionth time, he then gives me vouchers for everyone in my traveling party, to ride two rides of our choice without waiting in line. I again thanked Steve more than one could imagine. He was more than happy to help me.

I entered MGM to find DH and tell him about the wonderful CM I'd just met and the caring service I'd recieved over the past two and half hours. Dh said right one que "this is why we keep coming back to WDW, where on earth would you get service like that?" Steve rocked my trip and I'm forever grateful for him. I will NEVER forget the service I received that day...it was top notch and first class!!!!!

I can't let this thread die. It doesn't belong on page 4...I think it should be a "sticky" thread. More stories, please. I have a LONG wait till my next dose of Disney Magic!

My son got to close the pool at All Star Sports. A CM came over to where he was swimming and asked if he'd like to do it. She had him get out of the water and go to the lifeguard chair, then handed him a megaphone and he announced the closing. :) He got a certificate, too. It was really fun.

Ok, here's our story:
In Feb. of last year we went with friends and stayed at the AKL. We all went on the Sunrise Safari - us and our 2 yr old and our friends also had a 2 yr old. Since they drive you in by the back of the park, directly into the Safari area, we didn't have time to rent a stroller for our friends' son (we brought our own with us on the safari). When we got out of the breakfast at Tusker House, the park had just opened and a throng of people were headed our way. I asked some CMs who were outside the restaurant if the only place to rent a stroller was out by the gate. They said yes, but one guy, named Logan, told us to wait a min. He went back behind the store someplace and came out with one of the rental strollers...gave it to us and wouldn't take any $$. He saved us a long trip to the gate and lots of time.

Thanks again Logan!

Back in 2001, we were stuck at Downtown area waiting for the bus to the TTC. It has been so long since this happened, I don't quite remember what time it was, but it was pushing time for the last bus from TTC to SOG (where we were staying). We stood around waiting for the TTC bus for almost 2 hours. Nobody seemed to be able to help us. Another couple was waiting too. It is frustrating to see resort bus after resort bus come and go and no TTC. I told my husband the next Grand Floridian bus that came, I was getting on it (monorail gets me to TTC). And I did. I asked the driver if it would be ok for us to ride his bus even though we were SOG guests. I explained the TTC bus had not shown up for over 2 hours and our last bus was due to leave very soon. He said no problem.

Expecting to go straight to the GF, you can imagine our surprise when he pulled into the TTC and parked diagonally in front of our SOG bus...that was getting ready to leave. He did not have to do that for us, but he did. I thanked him profusely. He made our vacation that trip. I just wish I had gotten his name so that I could have given him proper aknowledgement of his kindness.

We have had several nice things happen to us over the years but the nicest thing that ever happened to us at WDW was just this past weekend. I had taken my DS to Star Wars Weekend for a weekend trip to celebrate his 7th birthday, just he and I. I had some old passes with days remaining, I checked them at our resort and I was told that there were 2 days left on my DSs pass. We use the first day. On the second day, we went to DTD and then swimming in the morning/afternoon. That night (this past Sunday) we went to MK, the only time we would be there this trip, my DS puts his pass through the machine "access denied". The CM checks the past and tells me that it expired the day before, there was only 1 day left on it not 2 as I was told by guest services at the resort. My DS thinks he can't get in, I say no problem, we will go over to the window and buy a one park/one visit ticket. We go over to the guest services window to buy a ticket. I hand the CM my resort card, which I was using for charging, doesn't work, she wipes the magnetic strip, still doesn't work. She tells me that the card is de-magnetized. My DS starts to get upset. The CM member asks if I have another form of payment, I look in my bag, no wallet, I almost died. I only had my Pass holder, which had our passes, resort cards and $50. The pass I needed was $55 and change. Then I remember I had put my wallet in the room safe when we went swimming, I must have forgotten to but it back in my bag. I tell my DS that we have to go back to the resort to get my wallet. He starts to cry and says that he really wanted to ride the Buzz Lightyear ride. I tell him that we will come right back. Still crying. The CM says wait a minute there is something I can do. She gives me a short form to fill out with my name, home address and phone number, I figure she is just writing up a slip to charge to my room. DS is still crying. The CM then turns to my son and says with a big smile "Noah, here you go, you can go ride Buzz now, have fun". I say thank you so much you really saved the night for us. I really appreciate it. We go into MK and have a great time. Next morning, I get the room bill, there is no charge for the pass. I figure it may take a day to show up on the card since the CM wrote out the slip. Well, we get home Monday night and I am cleaning out the suitcase, I come across the pass, on the back of the pass is written "Complimentary". I couldn't believe it! I wish I could remember her name. I would love send her a thank you note, my DS and I had a wonderful time that evening, I would have to say it was the best part of our trip, we did everything that he wanted. He had a great big smile on his face the whole evening. So if anyone knows the name of the female CM from Brazil that was working in MK guest services window (when facing the ticket windows, she was in the last window on the right) on Sunday, May 22 at about 5:00pm tell her that Noah and his mom say "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. You are awesome! We will always remember your kindness".

I know this is the Disney post for CM greatness but I want to throw one in that happened at B.G. We were down there in September and my DW and I were going to ride Montu. Well, my DS decided he wanted to ride as well. We got in line and the person at the front gate let us on thru so we are getting excited about riding one of the top 10 coasters in the world. Well, when we got to the front to load on, they measured my DS and said he wasn't tall enough to get on the ride and would have to wait. It broke his heart. He really wanted to cry about it but he was tough. One of their employees came over to him and gave him a certificate saying that the next time he comes down he can get on the ride no line no waiting since he wasn't able to ride this time. He perked right up and started asking me when are we coming back.

I have a story to share. Last Wednesday (May 18th) we were at Epcot. My kids were checking out pins at a cart. We started to walk away and my daughter realized her Princess card that hangs on the bottom of the lanyards was gone. It was just on there when we got to the pin cart. We looked around on the ground and couldn't find it. She started getting very upset. The 2 CM's that were working at the cart asked what was wrong and we explained what had happend. They told her to follow them and proceeded to hand her a metal castle that hangs from the clip on the lanyards. They asked her if this would be a good replacement and of course she thought so! She instantly cheered up :wizard: I think it's wonderful that the CM's do the little things that really make a childs day! :goodvibes

Last September my DH and our 2 DD were at AK in the morning and we headed over to camp Minnie Mickey to get in line to meet the characters, it was early yet and the characters were not due out for 1/2 hour. Well when we got there no one else was there but Mickey, Goofey, and Minnie and they were wonderful to the kids. My little one was one and 1/2 and not waking so she was in the stroller Minnie came over to her and knelt down to play with her, Mickey follow shortly after and then Goofey! They played with her feet let her touch their noses and the pictures we have are priceless. THey must have been with us for at least 1/2 hour. It made our whole trip magical!!! A private visit with the characters!!!

DH and his buddy took a trip to Orlando the first week this May, mostly to go to Universal/IOA, but they did go to DTD a couple of nights to eat, catch a movie, etc. One night DH lost his driver’s license, and checked all over to see if someone had turned it in. They hadn’t found it by the end of their trip. Guess what came in the mail yesterday?

That's true-
Like if they didn't say that would I be looking for a bill in the letter or something?? LOL.

Oh- and sorry the picture's so blurry. My camera couldn't decide what to focus on.

Mine happened on Thursday night.

I had made PS for BOMA as DS and I love to eat there and I try to take him out at least once a month or so when I can get back down to check on him (he is attending AMI in Daytona)

We arrive at 7:10 for a 7:20 PS and were seated almost at once. The hostess who seated us said that John would be our server. Within a minute or 2, John comes to the table and introduces himself to us and proceeds to tell us about BOMA and that we should take out time and enjoy ourselves. He then asked if this was a special occasion. I replied no we just really like BOMA and think that it is one of the best restaurants at WDW. I did mention in conversation to him that it was my birthday about a week ago, but there was nothing special about this trip. He then said that there is no such thing as a late birthday at Disney and proceeded to wish me a happy birthday.

I thanked him and then we proceeded to the grazing stations to eat. Throughout the meal, John was very attentive to ALL of his tables and was back frequently to check to see if we needed anything.

Later in the meal, John comes over and said that he was sorry that I was unable to celibrate my birthday there on the actual day, but perhaps he could make up for that. He then gives me a plate that had a nicely decorated Mikcey cake and the plate said Happy Birthday Bob.

I was speechless and I did not expect anything. I thanked John very much and told him how much I appreciated what he did. Later he come up and says that he thought that we might be thirsty going back to our house (again through our conversations, he learned that I bought a house in Deltona for DS to live in while at school), and he brought out 2 togo cups with the famous BOMA frunch in it.

I just couldn't say enough to him to thank him but told him that this was my most magical event at Disney.

I told the manager at BOMA about John and wrote an email to guest services. I hope others get to experience John, he just makes the magic happen.

Well it was just a little thing, my son was tired and having a meltdown, which is not normal at all for him, but he was little and it was a long hot day and we were trying to eat at the japanese steak house. Nothing I said to him would calm him, and I was tired and frazzled myself. We are very aware of other guests in restaraunts and do not let our children be a distraction to them, when they start crying, one of us has to take them outside so the other guests aren't disturbed as they are dining. Anyway, not luck so it was time to take hime outside, and suddenly the hostess came up to him and she made a little origami bird and showed it to him and how its wings moved, and it got his attention and calmed him right down. I was able to go back to the table with him and enjoy a nice meal with the family, he was fine eating and playing with the little paper bird she gave him. It made a nice difference in our afternoon.
