Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

We were staying in the AKL and my partner had a room for 10 days on business in Orlando and I came with the kids in the middle of the trip. For the portion of the trip that all 4 of us were there, we had 2 rooms. It was supposed to be billed such that the room my partner occupied was charged on the corporate credit card and the room I had for the part we were there was suposed to be billed to the personal credit card.

They mixed this up a bit and charged both rooms to the corporate account and my partner got a nasty call from his employer lol, so I talked to the manager in his office and he was extremely apologetic. I was a little ticked at him so he decided to make it up with 4 free 4-day park hopper passes and his office phone number so we would be sure to stay at AKL again the next time we come to WDW.

Walking down Mainstreet with my daughters for the last 15 years, with more to come!

We've had a lot of nice CM and many nice experiences but about 4 years ago my DD lost her favorite new Winnie the pooh stuffed animal we got at the beginning of the trip on Spaceship Earth. The CM's were so nice we waited the whole go around and when nothing came out a very nice CM brought us across the way to the store and let my dd pick out any stuffed animal she wanted. She was so funny and silly on the walk over that dd stopped crying and was laughing. I think me dh and even dd were in awe, my dd even remembered to thank her without a reminder, because she was so genuinly thrilled.
DD was worried that Pooh might be scared alone. CM was saying something like "don't worry, Tigger probably took him off on one of his crazy adventures! You know how crazy Tigger is, right?". It really worked she stopped worrying about Pooh and enjoyed her new one.

Last time I was at WDW was with my parents when I was 29 - I am not 32 and taking THEM this summer. But, back to my story. My mom and I wanted to do Alien Encounter - Dad decided to stay behind and make some business calls. When we were done, Dad was talking to a CM who befriended him - thought it was sad to see him sitting by himself waiting. So, the CM asked what rides we wanted to go on gave us fast passes to 2 rides!! Later in the day we were riding Buzz Lightyear and when we were done the CM was at the exit. We thanked him for the fast passes and he asked if there was anything we hadn't done yet. We mentioned long lines at one of the rides and he pulled out MORE fast passes for us.

That too us was a shocker!!

I bet my next favorite is going to be this summer - 6/30 - 7/7. I am taking my parents, brother, his wife and their three kids for an all expenses paid trip to WDW. Staying Poly CL, got the Cindy' breakfast PS and surprising them with the Illuminations Cruise. I can't wait!!!

We JUST got back...

...a few hours ago! My DS got HIS hair cut at MK yesterday. Boy, oh boy, let me tell you some pixie dust was DEFINITELY sprinkled on US!!1 Here goes:

My DS wanted to have his hair cut at MK, so we decided to forego his much needed haircut BEFORE the trip. Wednesday was our scheduled MK day, so we were going to head there first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, we were running late, so we didn't arrive at MK until about 10:30. Needless to say, there was QUITE a line in front of us, so we decided to head on over to Tomorrowland for a ride on Space Mountain, Buzz, COP, and decided to try again later. We wound up leaving MK, only to return later that evening - RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF SPECTRO MAGIC! Anyhoo, once the parade was over, we made a bee-line straight to the barbershop, but -DRAT- it was closed! Knowing we had only a day left to shop for souvies for our friends and relatives, we headed for DTD. Not realizing the time, my DS wailed out, "We have to go to get my haircut!!!" OMG, what to do? We were in "World of Memories" store (across from the Christmas store) and asked the CM if she knew what time the barbershop closed. She didn't know; no prob, she was on the phone in a flash, finding out. Okay, it closes 5PM - it's 3:22, so we have a few minutes to devour a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, but now it's 4:10!! YIKES! My DS and I RAN to the bus depot. Out of breath, we searched for the bus stop which will take us to MK. ACK!!!! There IS NO bus that will take us to MK!! So, we decided to hop on the next bus to the Contemporary and hoof it to MK.
The precious minutes were ticking away, when we FINALLY arrived at CR. It's now 5:47PM. We ran (or rather, walked REALLY, REALLY FAST towards the MK entrance. BTW, contrary to popular belief, it's NOT a simple hop, skip, and jump. It's 4:55 and, completely out of breath, I politely asked to the security guard at the exit, my dilemma, if he could please phone someone to see if the barber shop was still open [I didn't want to waste a day on our PH passes to go to the barber shop only to find it CLOSED!] He did so and told me that it was still open, but you had to have arrived at the barbershop by 4:30, so he let me through, telling me to go to the Guest Services booth (with 8 people on line) to double-check. Instead, I went to the entrance and stammered through the whole story again. The wonderful woman at the turnstile said that she couldn't leave her post, but she let me in anyway [sans the passes!] to see if it was still open.
Still hurrying [ and feeling a heart attack coming on!]we arrived at the LOCKED door of the barber shop! I guess I had such a pathetic look on my face, so the barber LET US IN!! My DS was the very LAST CUSTOMER - it really made his day, especially when he was sprinkled with Pixie Dust!! This experience is something, I know, he won't soon forget...... !( See, Disney magic really IS alive and well in WDW!)

This is an old one... back in about 1984 my family went to WDW: mom, dad, older sister, and me (I was 8 or so). We arrived late afternoon, checked in, and then we were restless... we weren't going to the parks until the next day, but we all wanted to go have a look at Epcot for the first time right away!

So, we went over to Epcot. We were at the entrance staring at Spaceship Earth. The fireworks show was starting, the entry area was nearly deserted save for a few cast members, and we were just staring in awe of the whole new Epcot establishment.

I distinctly remember hanging on the fence, dying to go in... and then a cast member came over to us and with a smile and a wink, opened up the gate and let us in!! All 4 of us, allowed right in to the parks, with no tickets!!

Yes, it was almost the end of the night, but it was our first glimpse of Epcot. The music was playing, the place was lit up, everything was twinkling. I remember getting goosebumps, holding my dad's hand as we walked toward Spaceship Earth. It's still so clear in my memory that now 21 years later I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. All thanks to a kind CM. Now THAT was magical!

I am presently reading a book called Inside the Magic Kingdom and it is amazing! It talks about WDW's attention to detail and the customer service we all experience at WDW. I can definitely see through my trips, reading the thread and reading this book why it is my favorite place to visit! :flower:

when we visited in sept 02 a very nice lady came up to us and gave us vouchers for dinner she said they could not use them we had a wonderful meal :flower:

On our first trip to WDW with our daughter, our housekeeper set up her toys in the widow every day in different scenes. One day we came "home" to find towels all lumped up in the window to look like snow and her characters were all sliding down the "mountain". Another day, they were all laying on the bed with the tv remote watching the Disney info channel!

Same trip...while walking through MGM one day, the CM selling balloons walked over and tied one of the huge gold star balloons to our daughter's wrist. To a 3 year old, this was heaven...mom and dad were smitten too!

Same trip again...we went to Tony's in the MK and my daughter said "We came to Disney because I'm turning 4!". After dinner, they brought out this delicious chocolate cake with a candle and had everyone sing to her. What a wonderful surprise!

In 2003, my family, my sister's family and my parents all went to Disney together. While walking through AK, a CM came up to us and said, "So where are you going now?" We said that we were going to wander the park. He said, "Nope, you're going to follow me! Everyone always buys those guide books and follows their advice. So, we're going to go over here in the opposite direction and walk right on to this ride, you'll walk out the exit and directly on to the next ride and by then it will be time to use these Fast Passes for this ride!" He was great!

I still haven't figured out how they pick those parade grand marshall families at MK! That is the ULTIMATE dream!!! :earboy2:

You gotta love when people come up to you and share FastPasses that they cannot use for whatever reason. I have been on the giving and receiving end of this and it's just as much fun to give as to receive!! :cool1:

...*sigh* :sad1: ...brought a tear to my eye...!

Last week I was at Magic Kingdom. I use an antenna topper as the ball for my controller and got a Nemo at MGM to use. Put it on and discovered it was missing at tail. Found another Nemo at MK Emporium and went to buy it. CM asked why since I had one on my wheelchair. When I told him Nemo was missing his tail he handed to me and said we'll just exchange it and took the old one. Now my Nemo has a tail!
Also at MK the chef found me a diabetic dessert I can eat. Since I am allergic to aspartame this can be difficult. He actually had 2 that I could have and he combined them into a beautiful presentation as well.

I think mine was this past october 31,
my mom and I were just about to leave the MK and we were really bummed out we were not going to be able to go to the mnsshp on halloween.
Out of the blue we hear "do you need tickets for mnsshp"
I was in a state of shock but asked how much she wanted for them and she said just what she paid, so my mom dug out the money and we were the proud owners of 2 mnsshp tickets,
That night was one of our best nights at WDW, we hit the jackpot with the candy too, had so much we could barely get it to the bus.
All thanks to that wonderful lady, If you read this thank you:)

A couple of years ago I was at Magic Kingdom wearing my new Mickey Mouse socks that I had purchased the day before at the Emporium. To my horror a few hours later, the pretty plastic bag you get when you make a purchase at WDW had rubbed ink all over my socks. The sack was pretty big and I really did not notice that it rubbed green on the sock until later.

I went back to the Emporium and asked the CM if she knew how to get the green stain out. She promptly picked out another pair of socks and handed them to me. I asked her if I could take the ones off my feet, at least to exchange them and she said, "No. Just enjoy", giving me a free pair of socks! I was pleasantly stunned! :flower:

From free fast passes, to grand marshalling the parade, to receiving a kiss from Prince Eric, Disney has gone overboard every year for my birthday. It would take forever to retell everything. But my most recent trip was very magical, so read my trip report, found in my signature. Lots of magical stuff happenned. It's difficult for me to think about the trip, because I get all pverklmept. I cried through the whole end of the trip......*sigh* I love disney....

I have no idea if anyone is reading this far anymore, but I just took about 2 weeks of reading this off and on and finally got to the end! Great stories.

I've been to WDW lots with my family growing up, but hadn't been in years, and it was a first for my dh who was not excited about it. I knew that I had to make sure we had a great trip or I would not be going back nearly as much as I hoped.

A few magic moments from the trip:

First night, we went to Chef Mickey's so our daughters would know they were really at WDW. Our older daughter was in heaven, but the younger one was only 18 months at the time, and she was really scared of the characters. We put her in the corner away from them and just let her observe. By the end of the meal, she was warming up a little, and Chip finally got her to interact some. But then he had to go to the next table. He went and got Mickey Mouse himself, and Mickey came out of a break, just went to our table, plopped down on the floor, and played with my daughter for 10 minutes, and then went back on his break. It was so special, and I will never forget her toddling over to give him a hug after being so scared earlier - that CM made our trip because she was never scared of a character again.

Next morning I'd dragged everyone out to early entry at the Animal Kingdom, and swore that the UG said it would open early. Of course, it didn't, and my husband was giving me (good-natured) grief about getting us all up early so we could look at this fabulous line, etc. Well, then a cast member just casually approached to talk to us, and my husband (apparently thinking they were trying to sell us something or whatever) tried to brush him off, but I know better! So I talked to him, and he asked what we were going to ride first, and we said the safari. He said, "How about now?", took us into the still closed park, and walked us back. I finally asked why we were getting to do this, and he said, "We just like to have one family open the ride for us, and you looked like you'd like it." Well, we got our own jeep and the driver would stop it wherever we wanted to take pictures, he drove all over, not the standard trip at all, and told us all about the animals, it was totally amazing. And my dh was blown away. So I could say, "Hey, aren't you glad we got up early today?" And when we got off they'd just opened the park, and gave us fastpasses to come back later too. I was so glad we'd said the safari!

Last memory was the end of that trip. Our kids had been just spectacular. We'd tried to be realistic about what they could handle, but even so, I expected it all to be a bit much, have some meltdowns, whatever, but they were really perfect. The weather was perfect. We got on everything we wanted to. The kids loved everything. My husband loved everything. Our last night we watched Illuminations, and then we were walking back in the balmy air (January in Florida is a far cry from January in Ohio), our kids were still in awe, we were listening to the music as we walked out and taking our time, and I just thought, it doesn't get better than this. And my dh and I both were saying, "How could it possibly have been any better?"

So after he thought it was a once in a lifetime kind of thing, we went the next year, and now we've just bought DVC. I don't think we'll be there more than once a year, and probably not every year at that, but we know that it will just be that much more anticipation.

Thanks! I still love thinking about that night - it was perfect family time.
