Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

My latest MAGIC happened on the Wonder the last night of the cruise. I am hard of hearing but still love watching things even if I don't always hear and understand. I went to watch the Character Farewell. They all line up on the stairs in the Lobby of the ship. Well at the very end they sing the Mickey Mouse Club Song and sign it. WOW. I had tears in my eyes.

I made it to the END!!! Wow--it only took me 2 days!

One of my favorite memories happened last time we were there in April 2003. There was a HUGE storm in the area with lightening and EVERYTHING! We were in HM when it started (oneo f DS's favorite rides!) As we were leaving, a wonderful (but CREEPY!!) CM told us that due to the weather, not many people were "moving around" He took us through a CM only door and we were allowed to ride HM about 10 times in a row! DS felt like he was in some sort of HM heaven!!!

On the same trip, we were staying at GKTW because it was my son's Make a Wish trip. So he got a special button to wear and EVERYWHERE we went, the characters paid very special attention to him. The CM's also asked him if he was having a good time, if he needed anything, etc. Everyone was SO attentive to his needs that it made the trip SO extra-special!!!

my best memory is the great CM that let our two girls( about 7&9 at the time) ride on the front seat of the hayride in FW with her and hold the reigns even though we narrowly missed a lot of branches and didn't "quite" stay on the trail while they drove!..oldest daughter loves horses ( has 9 now that she is an adult) and she was thrilled beyond words. Funny how the"little" things can make such a great memory

BUMPING FOR MY OWN SELFISH REASONS--I LOVE THIS THREAD BECAUSE IT MAKES ME SMILE!!!:teeth: :teeth:

Just thought I'd bump this up. I think it's great to hear stories that are nice rather than nasty!

Our daughter found her fiance at WDW!!!

Our entire family went for a wonderful week's vacation@ WDW and our middle daughter was kind of the "odd man out" not having anyone her age to hang with. She was 22 yrs. old. We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort and on the 2nd night of our vacation we went to the pool @ the Dig site. Jen wandered over to the hot tub and struck up a conversation with a handsome young man. They hit it off very well and decided to meet up the next day to do some rides together. Being a nervous mother, but realizing after all she is an adult, I felt no harm. She could enjoy his company for the week. I figured they probably wouldn't see each other ever again. Well it turns out he is a student @ FSU and he was origionally from a home town very near to our own. The two really hit it off great and they became engaged 6 months later!!! They will be married on May 14th ,2005. They will spend their honeymoon @WDW staying @ Coronado Springs.

WDW is definately a Magically Place!!!

We've had a few magical moments at Disney over the years as well...

We took my younger dd (older dd had school) for her 2nd birthday last year. She was wearing her Alice in Wonderland costume in Epcot when two ladies came up to her and doted over her, acting like she was the REAL Alice and asking her questions about her adventures and asking for her autograph which Julia was more then happy to give her. And the lady then handed Julia a Mickey Mouse pin... was way to cute!

When my older dd turned 2, she was addicted to Minnie Mouse. We went to wdw for her bday and were staying at one of the All Stars. We got to the last night of the trip, 3 days after her actual birthday and at check in the CM had told us to be on the look out for a little something sent to the room for her bday. So the last night came and nothing so I ran to the front desk to explain the situation and they were SO apologetic and said they didn't know what went wrong. They asked me her favorite character and told her about the love affair with Minnie. So we got back from the park that night and there was a huge balloon bouquet, a card signed from Minnie personlized to Hannah and a wrapped gift. Hannah unwrapped it and it was an adorable Minnie Mouse clock. The clock is still on a shelf in her room and she'll still tell you that Minnie Mouse gave it to her.

On our last trip, we were celebrating my nephews 4th birthday. His parents had gone to Epcot so I had his brother and him and my 2 girls at PC. We had gone to dinner and then played in the game room and went back to the food court for dessert. It was the day after his bday but he was still wearing his button and the CM at the dessert section made a big fuss over him. She then asked if he wanted a cookie for his bday and gave him an enormous cookie big enough for all 4 of them to share. My grandma was buying them ice cream and with the cookie figured we only needed 1 scoop. The lady proceeded to give them SIX large scoops of ice cream! We only paid the price for one scoop ($2.29) for 6 scoops of ice cream and a huge cookie. The kids thought they'd died and gone to heaven!!!!

I am sure I will think of more later, nothing special for me but little ds got picked to be in parades a few times, oldest ds got to drive/steer a boat back to the poly once and dh had a whole frienship sing happy birthday to him once. Dont know about middle ds yet, have to ask him. Well I did catch the most fish on our family fishing trip. Hmm the nicest thing that could happen to me for our upcoming april trip would be middle ds getting up so we can be at ee right on time.:)

Well, my fam was at WDW 3 years ago and DD was 4yo. We went on the teacups and when we got off, DD found a few coins on the floor right outside our teacup. OMG, she STILL talks about finding like 41¢ on that ride! Someone else must've been pretty shook up getting off, but their small loss was my DD's giant gain! lol Looking forward to our next trip in 2005. elelbee

In June of 1999, before Fast Passes were in place, we were standing in a very hot and very long line waiting to ride Runaway Railroad. Both my parents and my aunt were with us on this trip, DD was 8 and Ds's were 5 at the time. A CM must have overheard me telling the kids that we would go back to the room to rest after this ride. My father has a very serious heart condition and an afternoon nap is a must for him. The CM quietly came over to our group of 8 and said it was too hot and the line was too long for us to wait. He lead us through the exit area of the ride and put us at the front of the line. I thanked this CM profusely, and he probably still doesn't realize what a nice thing he did for a man with a serious heart condition.

Also on that trip, DH and I celebrated our anniversary. We received an autographed photo of Belle and The Best in our room!!

On our trip in 2000, my daughter (5), son (7) my husband and myself headed one evening to MK to view the Main Street Electrical parade. It was chilly, so my daughter wore a Cinderella sweatshirt, which was a hand-me-down from her cousins. We staked out a place to view the parade near Sleepy Hollow. The parade started and as Cinderella went by, her float stopped right in front of where our family was sitting on the curb. Cinderella looked down at my daughter, who was looking up at Cinderella in awe. Cinderella daintly put her hands over her heart and said to my daughter "Oh, thank you for wearing that shirt with my picture on it." Cinderella's float moved on, and my daughter was in heaven to have had Cinderella pick her out of the crowd and speak to her!

On our trip in 2003, my son rode Space Mountain for the first time on our first day at the parks. We returned to MK a few nights' later to catch some of the rides we missed before. My son kept saying "let's ride space mountain," and I kept saying "in a little while." It was soon 10 pm, and we were exhausted. My daughter and husband headed back to the room. I had promised my son we were going to ride space mountain, so we headed that way. The wait for the stand by line was over an hour. I was exhausted and tempted to leave, but I promised my son we would ride, and he rarely asked for anything, so I found the back of the line, and braced myself for an hour long wait. Just then, a man approached me and said "Is it just the two of you?'' Well, you guessed it, when I said "yes, it's just my son and I," he handed me two fastpasses. What a treat! My son and I grinned from ear to ear as we walked through the fastpass line. All week long, we talked about our good luck!

Our last trip, DD8 decided that she would try to get all the Princesses' autographs. On our very last night, we had them all except Cinderella. Other family members had a PS at Cinderella's Royal table (is that what it's called now? I can't seem to keep the name straight!) so hubby decided to ask if there was a possibility of getting seated that night. The CM at the podium said to try back a bit after the evening parade. So we went off for an hour or so, watched the parade, and headed back.

The CM remembered us, and sure enough, there was a table open for the five of us. We walk in, and there's my aunt/cousins, etc, eating dinner. We're seated a bit away from them, pretty much in the center of the room. And what a gorgeous room it is!
Of course, DD8, the world's pickiest eater, can't find anything she would be willing to try on the menu. (She has a pretty sensitive gag reflex, it's very odd!) So the waiter offers to bring her anything she'd like. Talk about being treated like a princess!

So, she gets this plain grilled cheese sandwich (which actually makes it past the gag reflex, miracle! She can only eat certain types of cheese ) and she's in heaven.

Then, the lights dim, the music starts up, and we are in the middle of the evening fireworks. It's spectacular! We are all amazed at our good fortune. DD8 is quite happy. She doesn't have Cinderella's autograph, but she gets the princess treatment in Cindy's castle!

Oh my, out of the corner of my eye, I catch a glimpse of a beautiful woman in blue. Can it be? Cinderella has made a brief appearance, and we get to wave good night to her, as she pops out of sight. DD8 is so happy! We talk about how we were lucky to have been able to eat in her castle, and how it was OK not to get her autograph, right?

Then, for some reason, I think that DD8 and I should head downstairs. We're done eating, we need to use the restroom, but we don't go back to the table. We're drawn down the stairs, into the throne room. And there she is, Cinderella. All by herself. Another family had just left, no one was behind us.

DD8 is just standing still, like she can't believe who she is seeing. Cinderella smiles, and my daughter finally says "I've been looking for you for our whole trip!" My eyes are filling up, and I babble something about the fact that she was the only princess we hadn't gotten an autograph from, etc. I just can't believe it either - we didn't have PS, we didn't have any idea that Cindy was available at dinner time. We were so resigned to not have that final princess autograph!

They must have had about 10 minutes together. DD8 got to sit on her throne with her for a photo, and Cindy gave her a sweet hug and kiss too! The serendipity of this occasion just blows my mind, and continues to remind me of why we love Walt's World so much.

I've gotta bump this, so many sweet things, I'm getting all teary eyed, and goosebumpy reading these!!

What a great thread. Last summer my DH and DD went to Ak for the first time. It was HOT and we were Miserable and cranky which must have been obvious as we walked past one of the food areas (sorry can't remember which one) but a CM at the window called me over and gave me a cup of ice for my DD to cool her off and asked me to sing the mickey mouse club theme. I did already starting to feel the disney magic and when I finished my DD and DH were laughing and then the CM gave me a chocolate covered MM ear. It was very sweet and just what we needed to get us back into the spirit. Love Disney!

This did not happen to me but involved me

I was at FOTLK during my solo trip and was sitting in the Elephants section about 5-6 rows up from the floor on the far right from the perspective of facing the floor

In the first row was a gentleman who felt for lack of better words (I never saw the front of him) like he had lost the "spark of life".

At one point, Kiume (African Tribal Leader) came towards our part of the section, it felt like he was looking right at me and I was thinking about the gentleman in the front row - Kiume winked at me and then very intently focused on the gentleman in the front row.

After a couple of seconds (felt like an eternity), the gentleman's head all of a sudden perked up and it felt as if he was sparked again and ready for life. Kiume then let out a big hearty laugh, looked at me again, had huge smile and then strode off with purpose back towards the center of the floor.

From that point on for the rest of the show, the gentleman was very much alive and right into what was going on.

**********

Subsequently, during the "circle" the performers that escorted the children around the circle from the Elephants section, picked out and escorted a child who was in a specialised wheelchair around - the child was beaming eye to eye - it was just beautiful.

Between the two things I witnessed, I became quite teary eyed myself and had to brush my cheeks a couple of times.

This show has real power for me and is on my must attend list every time I/we go to WDW. During my solo trip, I attended the show 4 times over 3 days and always looked forward to it.

thanks

we stay at the grand floridian every year and always request the same room. upon checking in we requested our room and told it was avaiable and we would stay there but it was not ready yet and we had to wait til 3. by mistake a cast member gave away our requested room. being so embarassed by the situation the staff at the GF gave us an additional room that for free. the 2 rooms were joint together and this was during fourth of july week. if that wasn't enough on our last nite after we had our beds turned-down on our night stand was a dozen chocolate covered strawberries.

I actually have several stories, but this one is about my DD. Last time we were at WDW was 2002 and DD was 4yrs old. She has always had this amazing ability to draw attention to herself and have people just approach her so easily. Anyway, we were in the Disney Village/Marketplace and it was our first day at WDW (we always spend it shopping:D). We bought her a child's lanyard and some pins as soon as we got there and she proudly wore it. As we were walking around several CM came up to her and asked her if she wanted to trade. Well, she of course didn't because she really didn't understand the whole concept of that at that age. So the CM gave her a pin of theirs and told her to not trade it because it is a special CM only pin and she won't find it anywhere else. This happened 4 times throughout the night. I found this to be very thoughtful on the CM's part and my daughter and I will never forget it.::yes::

We were first on Splash Mountain (not a crowded day, we didn't plan on it, just were lucky) and a wonderful CM named Jack took our name, said we were "his" for the duration, and after we had done it twice (he let us though without getting off), he escorted us for a free photo, then over to Thunder Mt., where he took us directly up to front of the line, and handed us over to the loading crew, instructing that we be put in the last car, which he considered the best ...
what a treat!
