What's the Next DVC Property?

I like Paul Krieger's idea where, in 2042, they could sell Yacht Club as a brand new DVC resort and fully gut Beach Club for cash.

me too - making Yacht / Beach one wing DVC and the rest hotel similar to Boardwalk two wings makes a lot of sense if they have spare room capacity. With the expansion of HS the location is very attractive. Also DVC members do seem to LOVE Epcot.

The hold up I think would be Riviera. Maybe DVC won't care but I just can't think they will want two Epcot resorts selling at the same time until Riviera is almost sold out (2026 area).

I still think Epcot resort DVC expansion should come around CBR by flipping it to world themed resorts possibly primarily focused on Europe (Alps, Rhineland, Loire Valley). Then adding a walking trail to Epcot entering in the current African "pavilion". You could even do a walking trail to HS although possibly more difficult but they have the area cleared just not sure how hard it would be to install a boardwalk style walking path that is elevated over ground level (to avoid animals).

That walking path would be a pedestrian bridge over a six lane road, ten lanes at the intersections. I can't see Disney routing pedestrians over a road that major and installing a whole entrance gate.

I can see flipping CB. But there's no need to do that right now, while Disney is sitting on so many RIV points.

Now that the precedent has been set that they can add to an existing condo association, I can see whatever they build at CBR (assuming they do down the road) to just be rolled into the existing RIV association.

I wonder if those folks will be upset at the increased competition at 11 months for those Tower Studios, because you know that's what DVC will market...

I think the bigger risk is they do a DLT and build a new Tower with a bunch of Tower Studios which incorrectly puts too many rooms in that category. Part of why I like RIV is the room allotments are fairly well spread out across room size.

This goes back more to that Disney Forward concept where they intermingle resort with theme park. Additionally you wouldn't need as much parking for offsite guests since you could have people parking at Disney Springs or HS and then skyliner to the location.

I don't think it's likely but it just has me thinking.

Tikiman says "Spirit of Aloha" cast members have been notified it will NOT return. He believes the DVC expansion is a go! Let the speculation begin.

I'm hoping for an all new tower-like building with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units and a new pool/splash pad. Sign me up!

DVC did just complete a refurbishment to the DVC rooms at PVB that were unexpected right?

I'm in! (as long as it's not more studios)

With the possibility of Poly2 on the horizon, do folks think it will be part of the same association or will the new building have resale restrictions? I’m guessing (hoping) Poly is new enough that it will be part of the same association like VGF2.

I think we already know the answer.

The luau is dead. Why? It was a nice moneymaker. 🤔

Over on the WDWMagic rumors boards there’s been constant posts like this for 2 years now:https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...-final-nail-in-the-coffin.974748/#post-997955

Oh and Disney just rebuilt and expanded the Polynesian monorail platform. Why?

Anyway I would bet real money that it will be Polynesian, and not a conversion, but a new build, approximately where the Luau was.
Boom

Very surprised they announced this while VGF2 just started selling. I would think this might depress sales going forward.
I don’t know if you’re right or not, I just think it’s funny that if you look back, they also announced the first Polynesian resort DVC while Grand Floridian one was still selling.
