Last month we stayed for 5 days, and next year DH wants to stay 6 or 7. I've heard talk on the boards, though, about people getting "bored" after staying at HH "too long". Now I don't think it's really possible to stay too long. There's just DH and I, and we could just sit on the porch in our rocking chairs, watch the wildlife (birds, bunnies, dolphins), maybe read a book, for hours. DH has a pretty high pressure job, and he really loves unwinding there. However, I'm a little concerned that the relaxation not turn to boredom. So I was just wondering, what's the longest anyone's stayed? Has anyone actually gotten bored (besides children-I know ours would get bored real fast if I said "We're going to sit on the porch and rest all week)?

We once stayed for 10 consecutive nights! It was wonderful. We were never bored at all. In fact, DH said he would like to stay for 10 consecutive nights every year, but something or another has always interfered, so we have not been able to do that again.

In 2002, however, I think we stayed a total of close to 20 nights, on several different trips. Even when the weather didn't cooperate, no one ever complained of being bored.

DH always brings his laptop, and spends whatever time is necessary on it, and checking voice mail for work. I just enjoy being there and savoring that wonderful resort!!!

I stayed for two weeks during the summer. Not at Disney, but other timeshares. At the end of the two weeks, I was not ready to go home.

We did 12 nights over Xmas and weren't bored at all. It was nice to to have to rush to get up in the mornings and filled the days with golf, beach, pool, naturewalk, shopping, dolphin cruise and visiting a few sights. I'm sure at a push I could organise a day trip to either Charleston or Savannah if I needed to fill in some time but so far I've been happy to relax. The kids were happy with the pool(slide) and beach to suppliment the other stuff.

We were in HH 2 full weeks in 2001. Granted we didn't stay at DVC. We were ocean front both weeks but in different Marriott resorts. We had a large group of family up the first week and just my Wife, Daughter and I the second week (son at camp). I had to drive back to Macon that in between Sat to meet up with his Scout Camp, that was a fun drive RT.

We have been several times before which I think makes a difference. We stayed a full week at Marriott's Harbour Pointe a few years ago which is the other side of Shelter Cove from DVC. We were never bored but HH is for relaxing, riding bikes, strolling the beach, grilling out, eating great food and the like. It is not like going to a Spring Break spot or Theme Park.

We usually stay 5 -6 nts. (darn those high HH pts. for weekend summers) and we drive for 1 1/2 days there and home. I'd love to stay for 10 days because I know that everytime we go, I plan to do more things off-site & when we leave, we've hardly done any of them. Of course, all of this depends on acceptable weather. From our last 6 day trip at the end of Aug., I learned that when its a rain-filled week in HH, you can't wait to get home.

We usually stay 6 days and it is never long enough. Just never enough vacation time to stay longer.

We stay a week but our goal is to someday stay for 2 weeks.

We stayed Sunday through the following Friday (13 days) and hated to leave. Still have things to do every year when we go back that we have not had time to do yet. Depends on the weather and activities.

Thirteen days-that sounds like pure heaven! BTW, wanted to let you know that I loved those pictures of the view from your balcony on your website (#1138?). We were in #1137 and I'd always wished we were in the 1 BR you had.

Simbas Mom,
We just returned from 7 days in room #1138 - and it was perfect. The view of the inlet and marsh was great, and we were definately not ready to leave.

This was our 3rd stay and our best trip yet. Look forward to going again soon...

Kathy

We used to stay for 6 but now that we reserve a 2 bedroom typically have a 5 night stay!

Linda ( a few days til the next HH stay)
