I'm getting really excited to go to WDW (I leave in 9 days) so I thought I'd celebrate people's WDW rituals...Whats' the first thing you HAVE to do or cant wait to do when you arrive in WDW? Or what you cant leave without doing?

Me? I shoot right to Aloha Isle upon arrival at MK (always, the first of the 4 we go to) and get myself a pineapple dole whip. Without fail. :earsgirl:

What about you? :confused3

:wizard: :pug:

We got to Downtown Disney and get a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich. That's our family's "We're at DisneyWorld" tradition...
My daughter gets' the PB&J; my hubby gets the club; and I get the chicken(with the peppers in it)..
My stomach's growling just thinking about it.

We do the same thing, but always find something different. We usually visit the resort first of where we are staying and then go to DTD. But this time we are going straight to DTD and going to the Earl of Sandwhich... :goodvibes

On our arrival day, we always have to take a boat ride over to Ft. Wilderness and have dinner at Trail's End. We like the fact that we take a plane, car, and boat - makes us feel like we've completed a long journey!

For me, I need to see the giant entrance sign on the road that welcomes you to Disney World. We must drive that road before I believe we're really there, and then once Mickey 'waves' us through, I relax and smile and know that the magic has begun!

We usually check in around 4 in the afternoon, so spend the rest of that day unpacking and strolling the grounds of our resort, which next March will be CBR. Our first park always has to be the Magic Kingdom, and our first ride is always Pirates of the Caribbean. If we manage to get to MK before it opens, we like to get a pastry from the Main Street Bake Shop. By the way, I tried a Dole Whip last trip and found it to be a little too tart for my taste!

aww, I'm sorry you didnt like the dole whip! I have been known to have an incredibly strong sweet tooth though:earsgirl:

Have fun at the CBR, you'll love it, I've been there 4 times and cant wait to stay there again (just making my rounds at the other resorts right now, gotta try em all!). They have great grounds to stroll too! You can even take a canopy bike ride with the family to get a good look at the grounds and enjoy a nice leisurly stroll...enjoy!

I have to get to MK to see the castle  makes me feel so happy :cloud9: I always star my trip with MK and end with MK, I also like to have a lemon slushee while waiting for Spectro to start

Arrive on a Sunday and go to HDDR that evening. Then go on hayride after the HDDR.Since we go first week of December we always go to MVMCP,Candlelight Processional and Osbourne Lights. :wave2: :wizard: :goodvibes

The first thing you do during a WDW trip is the most important. The best part of any WDW trip is when you get there. :goodvibes

Of course, the worst part is departing to the airport, or driving off property heading home. :guilty:

The only saving grace is to start planning another trip when you get home! :cool1:

We always stop at DD first (we usually arrive around noon) and have lunch and shop some! Then we check in and go over to MK! First dinner is frequently CP! :Pinkbounc

There are so many have to do's before we leave. One of the first things we do is before we even make it to Orlando. We always stop at the AAA Welcome Center in Ocala just to get our Disney fix started. When we actually arrive, we usually go straight to DTD (after checking into the resort). As far as what we have to do at the parks, here is a brief list.

MK - Buzz Lightyear is a must

EPCOT - Soarin (the best ride in WDW), JII, TT, and MS

MGM - RNR, TOT, and Great Movie Ride

AK - Primevil Whirl ( I will say you need to visit the Tree of Life at least once)

we always go to dtd and look around, just so happy to have arrived!

our new tradition is wcc for brkfst along with our old tradition of trail's end for a meal and patisserie for bakery ( ok more than once)

wow, I cant wait to try Soarin...havent heard one bad thing about it yet! I'm surprised how many people go to DTD first thing, thats awesome! I usually do that last, I buy all my goodies right before I leave! :)

Ride Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion and Pirates!

Normally we get there in the evening so we rest and check out the hotel. We tried to stay at a different location. This December AKL!

We like to go to Downtown Disney early in the trip and shop and have things sent back to the hotel or shipped home.

:cheer2: Love Disney!

For me it all starts at Orlando International airport. The hues of the blue carpeting complimented by the sunshine blazing through the glass roof - it reminds me of sun shining on water - and the palm trees - and the monorail - it all just lets me know I'm there.

And then - the landscaping outside the parking garage? We usually rent a car, and that landscaping lets me know that I'm in Florida. The pretty ponds, fountains, waterfalls and rockwork? The Buffalo airport sure doesn't have anything like that.

After checking in, our first day is usually at Universal. Then we like to have dinner and see Illuminations. The past two trips we've had dinner at Marrakesh, and I think that's become our tradition. :)

We live very close so we're able to go often, and we don't have a ritual exactly, but I always go to MK first. We can even ride a different ride, but it's always MK the first day!
