What's the first thing?

We usually arrive late in the day so we take it easy and get settled. The next morning it's chef mickeys and mk to get the vacation started right. I can not leave without having my "big turkey leg" for lunch.

We usually arrive late afternoon/early evening so dinner at 'Ohana's has become our first night tradition. Can't wait to go back this January! :teeth:

First thing -a leisurely walk down Main Street

"Must do" - a hot dog from Casey's and breakfast on the last morning at Main Street Bakery

Here is one you will probably not hear too much of .... it is tradition that we first ride Snow White's Spooky Forest.

Then after that the tradition is to leisurely go ride to ride.

Do they sell Dole whips at DTD? Or is it just at certain parks?

Unless I'm mistaken - I think they're only sold at Aloha Isle at the Magic Kingdom. It's IMMEDIATELY on your right as you enter Adventureland from the hub.

What are dole whips???

They're sort of like soft serve ice cream. But they are non-dairy, and are fruit flavored. We have them here in Buffalo in a couple of flavors, but Aloha Isle only serves pineapple flavor, I think.

I'm actually not a big fan, so I've never been to Aloha Isle to see if they serve other flavors! :)

Dole Whips are pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream. I usually get the dole whip float which is pineapple juice at the bottom of a tall glass and then the soft serve on top - oh so good. MK is the only place I know of to get one but it's a must have for us.

The first thing we do when we arrive is usually walke a little around the resort, hit the resort shop, and then head off to MK to see that gorgeous castle! I get goosebumps as soon as I see it and I hear the park music! 14 days to go.

It seems that we have gone to Epcot after checking into the resort. My DD and GDs seem to like this park best. They are 9-9-13. We have dinner there, doesn't matter where, and watch the Illuminations. We then know that we are really at WDW. :Pinkbounc  The next day however, HAS GOT TO BE MAGIC KINGDOM!!! ::MickeyMo

The first thing my family must do is go to EPCOT and ride Spaceship Earth. That is how we know that we are truly "home"....

Well, it is not a ritual, but the first thing we are doing (on Tuesday, hooray!!!) is going on a WISHES cruise....complete with bday cake for my 10 yr old neice. Can't wait!!!

We always have first night dinner at the Cali Grill.
Our first ride is always the Haunted Mansion, but after such a long flight we're beat the first day so all that stuff feels like a dream. it's the next morning when we have a character breakfast in the MK that we feel 'we're here!'

I, too, can NOT leave WDW without having a hot dog from Casey's! It's not even that they're anything special (even though when I put cheese on it, they are pretty special!), but it's just become so that my trip is not complete without one! ::MickeyMo
And I thought of another thing that I ALWAYS do!...As soon as I check into my hotel, the first thing I do is turn on the Disney info channel and leave it on for the rest of my stay! ::MickeyMo

We have to go right to the Magic Kingdom and ride Pirates of the Caribbean! DH and I have done this every trip together.

Of course, when we go with the kids in December, my nephew has informed me that there will be a change of plans. You see, he "always" starts his trips to Disney by riding Star Tours. His last trip was the first time he rode Star Tours, but he "always" rides it first.

Guess we'll be riding Star Tours first! It's all about the kids, right? (well, that trip, anyway!)

Most of the time we stay at the Beach Club. We check in and head immediately to Epcot. Our goal? Kaki Gori!!! That's usually the first thing we do.

For us it's been are tradition since our first trip together. We head to MK hop on PotC and then grab a hotdog (Casey's of course) and grab a spot for the parade or wishes!
