What's the first thing you do in the park?

We're so hyper we usually hit a family favorite ride first while saying OMG we're at Disney!

I think this will be me too!:)

We havne't been as a family, and I can't remember what happened when I was there 17 years ago, so I can't speak from experience. I do know that we plan to jet directly to Fantasyland so the kids can ride Dumbo without a huge wait. We hope to break them into riding rides, since the youngest two have never been to an amusement park that they remember, and it will be about 4 1/2 years for the oldest to, also! Rides are a complete unknown to us, so hopefully they love them!

We want to hit the attractions in Fantasyland first, then take in Frontierland. I'm not expecting to conquer the world our first day. Space Mountain will be our first stop our second day in the parks. We're pretty flexible. I think I'm going to be so excited to be there, it won't matter much to me what we see or do first!:lmao:

We took dd there last year for her first time. She was 3.5 years old. Well, we woke up at 3:30am to get to the airport and she was so excited to get there that she stayed awake the whole time until we walked through the arches of the entrance into Main Street. She fell asleep at that moment. So, we went into the little theater and watched the original Mickey movies and took pictures in the theater with her sleeping in her stroller. We waited for 2 hours. She did not wake up. So, we headed back to the Boardwalk where our room was now ready. Don't you just know the moment we walked through the hotel room door she woke up!!!! Now that WE were totally exhausted it was time to head back to the Magic Kingdom! We had a fantastic day and started all over again. It was a magical walk down Main Street. We took it all in and saw the singers/dancers on the trolley and then stopped to see the show in front of the castle. After that we went into Fantasyland and rode Small World for her first ride ever. We are headed back this September again. Taking another early morning flight. Hopefully she will sleep on the plane! :)

As soon as I walk through the gates and see Cinderellas Castle down Main St, I tear up. I just can't help myself. I try to hide it from my hubby because I know he'll laugh at me :rolleyes1

We then get our picture taken in front of the castle and off to Tommorrowland we go! "Iiiiiit's a great big beautiful tommorroooowww....." :thumbsup2

Growing up it was always the same. Walking down main street in awe of the castle and just being there. We would look the map over on things we wanted to do and we did the same ride every time....Pirates!!!

Still a family favorite!

We should start a crying club! I do too!
The first time I did was at the 3 o'clock parade and we were planning to leave right after to stay at some off site dump. I started to cry and I couldn't explain why.
So, yes, we head to MK too and soak it all in. We don't really have anyplace to go. We do do HDDR the first night we are there.

But, we are more of night owls and tend to stay out late. With dd, it'll be interesting to see how that goes. I have never been to MK at the opening and I watched it on Youtube and about cried! LOL I'm sorry kids, but we are getting up early to experience that!
Now that I think about it, I haven't been to any park right when it opens, we usually go about 1/2 or so after.

We're pretty much creatures of habit. At MK we head straight to Tomorrowland for Buzz and Space Mountain. Epcot we go right to TT and MS. HS we go to RnRC and ToT right away and then at AK we make a beeline for EE. No tears upon arriving...but leaving is another story.

-Get maps and times guides (this is more for DH's sake, I don't need a map anymore).
-Get our picture taken in front of that park's icon

I am such a crier, too! My husband isnt, but said he is going to have to wear sunglasses the whole trip, since it is our DD's first trip. He will be crying like a baby, too!

The first thing we do on our first day is get to MK for rope drop. There is nothing like that opening ceremony. The music makes me cry every time. The next time we go, we're finally taking our kids. I am going to be a basket case when I see my DD's reaction! For anyone who needs a dose of magic, click here! http://youtube.com/watch?v=wGWy8d7nac8

WOW! This video has me crying like I'm in mourning! I had to laught at MYSELF!

This is our first time in Disney, but I assure you this will be something we will be doing from now on ( watching the opening ceremony)

My mother has told me that after my first ride at Disneyland at age 6 mos. (Yes, believe it or not I was talking) I told her,"Ride, ride, more ride!" 39 years later, whether I walk through the gates of home (Disneyland) or WDW that is the first thing my family does.
What ride we go to depends on our mood. Forget the shows, I never watch the parades either. It is all about the rides, now & forever.

Ps. Next Saturday I'll be on Rockin' Roller Coaster! Yay!!!!!!!!

OMG that is wonderful!
What time does that happen in the morning?
I would love my kids to see that and I totally would be a basket case too!

If it is the first day we go to our traditional ride. Otherwise we head to attraction no. 1 to get a fast pass.
