We are only a couple so that extra little bit of space isnt too important to us (plus were british we used to small hotel rooms :lmao: )- are the fixtures and fittings a much higher quality, or are you paying more money for the better location on the ship?

Thank you!

A cat 11 has a single bathroom (tub, toilet and sink in one room). A cat 10 has a split bath (tub and sink in one room, toilet and sink in the other). It's a great help to have the split bath with 3-4 people trying to get ready at the same time...less of a deal if only 2 people in the cabin.

Thanks! Do you think the decor is different?

Thankyou - I think I will go for a cat 11:)

If you are able to deal with not knowing where in the ship you will be located, you can sometimes save a lot of money by booking a cat 12 rather than an 11. The difference is that you will have a 12gty, which means that you will be given at least a cat 12. While it is possible that you will stay in a 12, it is more likely that you'll get at least an 11.

A cat 12 is exactly the same as an 11 except for location on the ship and the fact that a cat 12 doesn't have the pull down bunk bed, so it will sleep only 3 people.

Cat. 11 is 184 sq ft and Cat. 10 is 214 sq ft. Not that much difference. As stated above, Cat. 11 is the one-room bathroom where Cat. 10 has the split.

Also, in Cat. 11 and Cat. 12 there are no connecting rooms. Cat. 10 is the lowest level that offers this.

And the issue is where that extra square footage is located--it's in the bathroom primarily with a minimally larger entry way. Thus, the cabin space that you'll actually have available to use is the same.

You are correct that if connecting cabins are needed, you have to book at least a 10...but OP is a party of 2.
