I never really new why it is closed and will they replace it with something else? Ive never been to RC only TL & BB.

River Country was at least partially fed with water from the lake and supposedly the water was deemed unsafe. I'm not clear on whether the water was treated at all but either way it was apparently not clean enough.

Also, River Country was an older and smaller park and charged less than the other two waterparks. Its main attraction was the "old swimming hole" and location. It was a very attractive park but low on the "thrill" factor.

There's been rumors that something might be created for the exclusive use of Fort Wilderness visitors (which would cause me to stay there!) but nothing's ever happened. We walked through a portion of it a little over a year ago and most structures were still there at that time so who knows?

I'm not so sure about that.
If the water was deemed unsafe the waterskiing and tubing would not go on as they still do. Also people still wade into the water at the FW marina, the WL beach, the Poly beach, CR beach, and GF beach (eventhough signs state keep out). Remember SSL and BL are connected.

A rubber blatter kept RC water and Bay lake seprate...
RC water was filtered...Rc was old, talk of reopening it as a pool for the campground was around just after it closed but nothing has been done with it...
The park was small and often would close around 11am during the summer...
