What's the date on your expired Maraschino cherries?

I don't have any maraschino cherries in the house, not something we regularly keep on hand. I can relate to finding outdated products in the pantry and fridge though.

Surprisingly we don't have any. That means I probably haven't bought any since before the PSPS of October 2019. Everything in the fridge got tossed because we were without power for 2.5 days.

My 4 lb sams club container expires in January.

I threw mine out a couple of weeks ago. An almost full container. Probably expired in 2019.

We have not had any in the house until my husband made Mary Berry’s cherry cake. We got a HUGE jug of them and he made 3 cakes and a couple other things. We had to by a bottle of them a few days ago as we are having cherry cake on Christmas day. Then we will see how long they stay in the fridge.

We don't keep them in the house usually. Once in a while if I'm baking a ham I buy a jar to use.

I've been married for 61 years and I can't remember ever purchasing maraschino cherries. I have never liked them and always made someone else take mine off of my sundae or milkshake or whatever else it decorated. It's weird that I didn't ever consider them to be food.

We just bought ours today! It’s a present for a DGD who had a Shirley Temple the other day and the restaurant had none to put in her drink. Her birthday is January 3 so we are mailing it to her!

So, I just talked to my DSis who was with us in Boston when Maura didn’t get the cherry in her drink. I mentioned we found a jar in Walmart. She had stopped in Wegman’s and bought Maura a jar too! We will wrap together and mail on Monday!

None. DW hates them and I guess I never liked them enough to by them. I eat lots of foods she doesn't like and vice versa, but for some reason, the idea of buying maraschino cherries, specifically, and bringing them into the house feels like betrayal.

I have to buy the smallest jar I can find because I will literally eat them all. No expiration date needed.
