We are the one of the few states that I know of that has a musical named after it (Best Little *****house in Texas)! I've seen that show several times and love the movie version with Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds.

It disturbs me when people can't find one good thing about Indiana. It is a fine state. I was not born or raised here, but even I have got lots of nice things to say about my little Indiana.

Ever been down south to the Wyandott or Marengo caves? Georgeous!

Don't forget the craftsmen that still take pride in their work, like the Amish.

What makes our state great? The same thing that makes out Country great- It's people!

I wish I knew more about Indiana. I've only lived here 3 years, and I've learned more about her than I ever learned about my native Michigan, in all my 40 years.

Look harder Lewski. I'm sure you can find something to celebrate about Indiana. Though it could be living so close to THAT school, that is causing all the trouble!

MMMM!!!! Canadian beer. That is something I don't like about Indiana. Here, Canadian beer is considered "imported," and is priced accordingly! In Michigan, it was the same price as most domestics. Oh well, no mattter. We don't have bottle deposits (nor an overwhelming litter problem ), and we don't have the alcohol taxes of other states, so it winds up bieng about a push.

I live in Hawaii, and on our island, it is all year long, but during the winter, we can go to the mountains to play in the snow and then an hour or so after go to the beach and get a tan.

St. Augustine, the oldest city. The space center, Disney Cruise Line! WDW, beautiful beaches, the Keys, the southernmost point, the everglades, the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean, fresh squeezed orange juice....

Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright's famous house) near Pittsburgh

The submarine sandwich began in Italy as a meat and cheese sandwich and the concept was brought to this country by Italians.

...but they weren't named "subs" until WWII when the soldiers from the Groton submarine base ordered them by the thousands.

The man who named the sandwich a Submarine was Dominic Conti in New Jersey. He saw a submarine put on display in westside park and remarked that it looked just like his sandwich.

People living in Connecticut are sometimes referred to as being Nutmeggers or Connecticuter's, or Connecticocian's or even Connecticutensian's! Who can top that last one?!

Oregon.......agricultural dream! Lots of lush landscape- very large exporter of berries (if you ever see a marionberry at the store- BUY IT- they are a hybrid berry here from Oregon and they are to die for!!!!), hazelnuts, dahlias

Multomah Falls (I think this is the 2nd tallest waterfall in the US behind the falls at Yosemite)

For being so far north, we actually have incredibly mild weather compared to other states the we are parallel to across the US. Snowfall (I'm talking Portland OR here) happens maybe once or twice a year, but then melts within a day or two. Average winter temps in the low 40's during the day. Not too terrible.

I'm sure there is more....I'm really a California native, so I could probably blather on about that state a little more (HELLO!!! DISNEYLAND! )
