Actually the first season (With the 9th doctor) is showing on BBC currently at 5 this week. Sara can watch it from there to get what's going on. But she'd have to find the first episode on the internet to understand.

But Blink is one of those filler episodes where you don't really need to know much. It's also a "Doctor-less" episode, where the Doctor doesn't really appear that much in the episode. It's pretty timey-wimey, but the events are all explained near the end. Plus, it's just awesome

I know! I wish my dog was that size again ): now my dog weighs 70 pounds haha. He was supposed to get really big and weigh like 120, but thank goodness he stopped growing- HE WAS THE RUNT OF THE LITTER PRAISE THE LORD.
