What's on your grocery list - cooler only/no food prep

Even though we stay at the mods and have a refrigerator, we only use it to keep our waters and sodas cold. Besides that, here is what we bring:

$6 Toaster that we throw away upon check-out
Instant oatmeal
Bagels
Pop-tarts
Jelly
Our own coffee
Pretzels and/or chips to snack on at night

We have no problem using the coffee pot water for oatmeal. I heat the water up and then put in an insulated mug so DH can make his coffee.

We also only eat breakfast in our room and no longer bring snacks for the parks. We never would eat them, the call of the Mickey Bar is just too strong!

We take a toaster too! We love toaster waffles. It doesn't matter, that they thaw in the fridge and they fill you up for breakfast. They aren't something the kids are normally allowed to eat, so they are a nice treat!:)

So yeah, I figured out that POP doesn't have coffee makers and I found out about the fridge swap too late. I ended up buying a nice mid-sized cooler here at home and packing it like a suitcase and using it there. It worked better than a styrofoam one. I also brough my itty bitty hot pot to heat up water for oatmeal and tea.
Individual cottage cheeses
yogurt
bagel and cream cheese
PB and J and bread
cheese stix
milk
cereal for breakfast and for snacks
goldfish
pretzels
oatmeal
applesauce
bananas
oranges
apples

Each day we also bought one treat in the park, as well as one counter service meal, and two sit down meals.

That's it! We had a blast. Just got home today! What a week with a fabulous up close shuttle launch to boot!

You hit my button with the hot pot. We've been travelling with one since it was required to sterilize baby items. Our hot pot boils, so in addition to what you and others have listed, we have done:
eggs can be hardboiled then chilled on ice and kept in a cooler a few days (I wouldn't keep them raw, but HB works well for a few days in a cooler)
mac-n-cheese boxes - here's the trick: sub a 5 oz can of (full fat) evaporated milk for the milk and butter that you won't want to keep in the cooler for a long time. Boil the mac, unplug hotpot, drain off water, add evap milk and powdered cheese packet. Can even add drained canned veg and/or tuna.
If you'll use it quickly, you can boil to cook "fresh" pasta, drain, and the heat in the pasta will warm the sauce. It's not hot but pleasantly warm.
You can do canned soups and stew in the hotpot as well if you have a non-stick bottom as do we. ...or use condensed soup: divide the condensed soup into disposable bowls then boil your water in the hot pot and add an amount equal to the condensed soup into each bowl - stir thoroughly to mix the soup and heat. Again, this is not hot but warm when done and it won't dirty your hotpot.
PM me if you want more ideas for a non-stick bottomed hotpot.

I never thought about a toaster- What a great idea!!! Pop Tarts, PB toast yum! :thanks:

I hadn't noticed anyone post this............
What about a bottle of wine or some beer for mom and dad after the kiddos go to bed? It's a nice way to end the evening, relaxing!
