The last time we were at wdw was 2011 but are planning to go early 2015. I remember at the time there was a lot of construction in magic kingdom up near Winnie the Pooh ride and most of dtd . Just wondered what has opened there and any have any good restaurant recommendation s.

I've read about magic bands - what r they?
Thanks

The main addition will be New Fantasyland which includes:
  • 7 Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle
  • Gastons Tavern
  • Be Our guest Restaurant
  • Little Mermaid Ride
  • Ariels Grotto
  • Storybook Circus Area with Double Dumbos and Goofys Barnstormer

DTD is still under construction and will be for some time as they turn it into Disney Springs.

Test Track has received an update

Magic Bands are part of Disney's new "My Magic+" programme which also includes FP+

Magic bands are supplied free to onsite guests and act like the old KTTW cards did - the main differences are they use RFID instead of magnetic stripe and you can wear them on your wrist. Offsite guests can purchase them for about $14 however the standard park tickets are now RFID so can perform the same functions as the MB for an offsite guest which is admission and access to FP+.

Magic bands come in 7 colours: grey, blue, red, green, orange, yellow & pink.

Fastpass+ is the new version of FP. You can pre-book 3 rides or experiences each day of your trip. If you stay onsite you can start booking 60 days in advance and if you are offsite you can book 30 days in advance.

They are currently testing obtaining extra FP once you have used your 3 from the in park kiosks.

FP+ can booked via the website or the MDE app on phones and tablets. You can change them on the go to using your phone if you have the app. You can also use the in park kiosks. There is free wifi in all the parks and resorts.

Looking forward to seeing New Fantasyland completed, especially the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train :)

We were lucky enough to do Enchanted Tales with Belle, Little Mermaid and visit Ariel in her grotto as they had soft opening for a few days during our last trip - it really made our day even more special :goodvibes
