What's it like to check in really late?

We'll be staying at POR in early December. Our flight does not get in until late, so I was wondering what it's like to check in at around midnight. Will it be faster? Will we be more likely to get shut out of our room requests? Can they still process park tickets at that hour?

Any and all info would be great to know.

we checked in around midnight last october at the BC. we walked in to a complete empty lobby. the CM at the desk was VERY friendly. she upgraded us to concierge (her suggestion). SO ... we were very glad we checked in when we did. it was worth the delayed flight and a horrible day in the airport

I checked into POR in Jan late...It was quick and painless...for some reason, I didn't get any of my room requests though

Then I had to wait up for maintence to bring a refrigerator for my moms medicines (they knew ahead of time that I needed one and why)....it took a while...

No line, good attention by front desk CM....good luck!

Jungle Josh - we need a fridge for medication & note that on every reservation - not once has the fridge been in the room - I think they don't assign you a room til you check in. That is a pain on late arrivals....

We have checked in late & found it very easy - no lines.

the end of June at about 11:40PM and it took about 25 minutes to check in that evening. But, it didn't bother me and my 2 year old DD was asleep in the car after a 13 hour trip, so all was well!Then we checked into POFQ the next day at 10:30AM and waited for about 45 minutes at check-in! Those were the two longest waits that I had ever experienced on WDW property out of 32 years of trips there!

I think it just depends on the time of year you are checking in.

Don't fret about things that are beyond your control! Enjoy your vacation!

I'll also be checking in after midnight for my october trip and I'm a bit worried about the room I'll receive. I'll be staying at BWI, and one time I got a total reject room there when the resort was full.

I once checked in at AKL after midnight and it worked out great. There was no line and we got upgraded from a standard view to a savanna room!

We checked in at AKL at about 1:30 AM in July 2003. Our late flight was further delayed by weather. Check in was QUICK. but the best part was getting to our room and seeing zebras on the savanah! What a welcome wagon.
