I've only been to WDW in may or June but have always wanted to do an early December trip when crowds are light and Christmas decorations are out. Does it have a different feel at that time of year? Thinking of a mom and dad only trip one year.

My DH and I was there last week. The Decoration were out but we are from WV and it did not seem like Christmas because it was not cold or snowing.

We prefer October at WDW.

It was crowded last week do to the POP Warner kids.

Just got back Monday from a 5 day trip. I have been to Disney World many many times, but usually in the summer. This was my first Christmas trip and it was unbelievable. I can't stop thinking about it. I feel like I experienced so much Christmas, that I have to keep reminding myself that I still have so much to do here at home to get ready for the "real" Christmas!!! I would definitely recommend a Christmas trip.

Carol-Lamb I'm right there with you!!! We got back on sunday nite from our 8 day trip and MAN was it FUN!!! This was our first december trip and everything was just so awesome! The weather, the people, shows, decorations! We had a blast. I showed my parents some of the video I took and now they are planning on going nest year with us!! And Amazingly I feel fully rested after our hectic trip! Imagine that!!

We saw some of the pop warner kids but it wasn't too bad in my opinion.

I just got back from a 4 day trip and it was magical! I loved all the decorations and now I want to go back next year! It really put me in the Christmas spirit.

We got back Saturday and it was awesome! This was our second December trip. The first was in '99 and although the crowds were a bit thicker this time, we only used fast pass a few times. Most of the time everything was walkon or nearly so and fast pass machines were closed and covered up.

The Christmas decorations were beautiful!

I would agree. Disney in December is the ultimate christmas feal. All the decorations are "disney perfect" and it is all so tastefully done. It is a perfect way to either get your ready for christmas at home, or the end of an already great christmas season.

I preffer going day after christmas - jan 2nd when we do it. But you can't do it every year, you just dont get to see all that disney has to offer because of the crowds.

We have been doing early spring and fall trips for the last few years. We did christmas and new years lat in 99-00, and the whole millenium change just wore us out.

But I think it's time to go back.

Got Quatro or anyone who was there at the Turn of the Century

I noticed you were at WDW New Years 1999-2000 - so were we, I was wondering if the crowds from that year compare to regular years. We were there from 12/27/99-1/1/00 and tho I remember the place being crowded, I don't remember it being unbearable, so I was wondering if i can expect about the same this year when we go 12/29-1/5/06.

We got back last Monday. I would NEVER go any other time of year! The parks are so beautiful, the weather is great, and I noticed that just about every single person/family was relaxed and in a good mood. And the crowds are absloutely managable, even if they are more crowded than normal. :wave2:

Can any kind soul tell me about the weather? We are leaving our house in 9 hours and I haven't packed yet! (I know. I know. Sooo un-DIS of me!) I am just confused about what to pack! Anyone have suggestions?

We were there from 12/5 to 12/12, the decorations were gorgeous, the weather not so much. It was cool & rainy most of the trip so we wore jeans and sweatshirts, especially at night.

I am here at WDW now and crowds seem to be average for this time of year. The weather has been a bit on the cool side....nice yesterday but cloudy this morning. I know that there is rain on the way. We are headed to Animal Kingdom today! Whatever you do, do not miss the special holiday ending on the Illuminations show. There is an additional 10 minutes of fireworks set to " Let There Be Peace On Earth"

Linda

We just got back yesterday, crowds were low. We walked on everything, it was great. Weather was a little on the cool side but it was magical all the same. MVMCP was really cold but it just added to the feel :>
