What's included at BOG for Childs' QS Credit?

I have eaten at BOG before on the DP and I thought that kids' meals did not include your choice of dessert (cupcake or creampuff), unless you wanted to pay extra using cash or a snack credit.

I am now getting ready to preorder for our upcoming trip, which I have never done before, and on the preorder menu page there is a little pop-up window that appears if you click the "Have A Dining Plan?" link near the upper right. It says the following

"Have A Dining Plan? If your Disney vacation package includes a dining plan, be sure to order one each of the following items for all Guests using the dining plan:
  • Entrée
  • Dessert
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverage"
It says "for all Guests," so does that mean that when I preorder, I can select a kids' meal, beverage, AND dessert, and it will all count as 1 QS credit? Or, will it count as 1 QS credit (for meal and beverage) and 1 snack credit (for cupcake)?

Has it always been this way or is this a recent change?

Thanks,

At lunch the kids meal does not include a cupcake, but you can either use a snack credit or pay OOP for one. The dessert option for the kids meal is usually a cookie. It is not a recent change.

That is what I originally thought as well. Just weird that Disney has it worded that way.

But I guess with the recent changes to the DP, my kids could order an "adult" meal with a cupcake using a child's dining credit...(if I understand the changes correctly).

That's what I'd probably do, depending on the child. If they're older and a bigger eater, then order them a regular meal. If they're little and won't eat much, you could always pay OOP for their meal if you want to do a kids' meal and then save the extra CS credit for another adult?

I had this same question. What I find confusing is that it lists cupcakes as kids desserts options on the MDE menu. The website does not, however.

When you are preordering, is it easy to pay OOP for the cupcake using a QS meal credit or would it be easier to just use the snack and meal credit for kids ordering off of the kids menu? Just curious as it will be our first time eating at BOG and also using the DP.

I ate at BOG for lunch several weeks ago. We ordered off of the adult menu for my 3 year old and ordered him a dessert as well. I used QS credits for all of us.

Thanks again to everyone for chiming in...

Dbktmc, I think that's probably what I'm going to do...from what I understand, there were some changes to the dining plans a month or so ago that now allow children to use their child QS credits for an adult meal. I've been to BOG for lunch 4 or 5 times and from all of those times, I think I have had one bite of my cupcake because my kids always get to it first (and I never think to use a snack credit to get an extra one)! This time I'm eating MY cupcake and not sharing!!!! :yay:

If ordering from the children's menu, they consider the dessert to be included in the kids menu. The available desserts are either applesauce or a cookie (used to be it was just applesauce). Cupcakes are not included.

They don't do the same at dinner though.
