Hey everybody! From what I have been reading, Earl of Sandwich seems like a great cheaper place to eat in and around Disney. What is good on the menu? Also, where roundabouts is it located...can you tell, first trip! Thanks.

Mike

We loved this place - so much that for our longer upcoming trip our plan is to eat for lunch and then grab more to go for the next day. :)

One of us had a great meatball sandwich. dh loved his roastbeef (called the original I believe). Kids liked that they had grilled cheese - freshly made & my son, for whom pizza never goes out of style, loved that there was a "pizza sandwich".

Lots of salads - many already prepared but very fresh. Dessert was on the smaller scale compared to other Dis offerings (but normal sized in the "real world").

We enjoyed the outdoor seating option as well. Really a convenient option, relatively inexpensive, and good food for the level of restaurant it is meant to be. :thumbsup2

We tried several sandwiches there last year and were happy with all of them. My favorites by far were the Original 1762 and the Florentine. Earl is located in the Marketplace section of Downtown Disney, sort of across the street and down a bit from Ghiradelli. We also enjoyed the tomato soup, the cupcakes, and the Earl's lemonade  . Hope you have a great trip! :)

The Earl of Sandwich is one of our favorites! My favorite sandwich there is the Caprese, it is with mozzerella and tomato, it is soooo good! It is located in DTD! It is near the Christmas shop, and connected to a kitchen shop with all Mickey Mouse gear in it! It is awesome! Happy planning!

I liked the Jerk Chicken and DH liked the BBQ Ham sammy

We always make a point to eat at earl of sandwich - everything we have gotten has been good - the caprese, the original, the turkey with cranberry, grilled cheese, the florentine...all very good. the tomato soup is great and the side salads are very good with a choice of dressings (the balsamic is good) - the prices are great...this is a true "find" in a restaurant!

By the way - even if the line looks long, it always moves quickly so don't be discouraged!

The BLT is so good!!! It is the first meal that my 14yo son had a tomatoe... I kinda tricked him into it. He loves them. You can get "mini"BLTs for b'fast, 2 of them are less then one big one, and it is overall larger! They use mini bread and the breakfast BLTs end up being between a very gen. 1/2 to 2/3 the size of the regular BLTs... Love them! We sometimes head straight to DTD and to Earls for a meal....
We have also had the meatball, very good, and the one with the turkey and cranberrys is light and tasty. I can't deside if I like the BLTs or the Turkey/cranberry better.. .
And when my DN, 5yo, had to have her sandwich with turkey AND ham AND .... they made it for her, no problem!
For us it is all most worth a trip to WDW just to get a BLT... Any excuse to go down there, right?!

My DH & I love this place! We are planning on eating there at least twice on this next trip. The tuna sandwich is really good (and I hate tuna melts!) and I also had the full Montagu (w/o mustard) (yummy!) They are huge also. Definitely a not miss:thumbsup2

Yes, wonderful place to eat!!! My husband and I LOVED the All American. It's was FABULOUS!!!:thumbsup2 We are sandwhich people and this place did NOT disappoint. It's great that it's on the DDP too!

don't miss it, it's a great place to get out of the heat and have a wonderful meal that won't stuff you too much...you get stuffed just enough!popcorn::

A great place to eat! The Caprese is my personal favorite, although I enjoy it much more chilled (sometimes I save half for the next day).

DH and I love Earl of Sandwich. We arrive around in Disney around 8:00 pm and that will be our first stop for a quick dinner so we can be up early for the parks. Every sandwich we have had we like. The Original is my fav!

We ate here 4 nights in February and every time I had the turkey bacon! (I know what I like and stick to it!!) I also had the cole slaw which was really good. This place is great!!! The sandwiches are much better than counter service at the hotels or parks IMO, and it is VERY reasonably priced. Although I'm sure many people get turned off by the long line, it moves quite fast. I waited with a cranky 3 year old with no problems.

I just told my husband today that I have been craving one of these sandwiches. We arrive in Florida at 7PM on May 11 and I'm thinking about dropping my stuff at the hotel and heading to the Earl!

Sounds like everything is good. I love BLT's and chicken with ranch. I eat subs almost every other day. And cant help but to eat somewhere that isnt costing us half our paycheck! Thanks everybody!

Hawaiian BBQ - Hawaiian BBQ ham, fresh pineapple and Swiss cheese- YUMMY!!!!!
I can't wait till September!!!:cool1:

I read somewhere that they toast all of their breads and if you dont want it toasted that you have to let them know. Is this true?

Mike

I am not sure about all their sandwiches, but I ordered a PB&J for my DS3 and it was HOT :crazy2: That is gross, I went back and asked them to rmake it and they did. Be sure and ask if you DON"T want it hot.
