Has anyone done the Boarding Pass/Luggage Transfer to Airline option at MCO post cruise?

I did my check in this morning and there was an offer to have DCL handle your luggage (giving it to the airline) and checking you in and providing a boarding pass. I checked NO. But I was interested? I just can't imagine with how busy MCO is, that my luggage would make my flight since it's later in the day. Disney USED to do this (early 2000's?). They would take your bag at Port Canaveral and load it on transport to the airport. But that was 20 years ago. It's enticing but . . .?

It said I qualified because I was taking DCL transportation from the ship to the airport. Airline was Southwest, and again, not until 6pm which may have been a factor.

We haven't but we typically have an earlier afternoon flight. I probably would if it were an option.

It wasn't 20 years ago; it was 5 years ago. It only stopped because of covid. It was working just fine until 2020.
SWA (and other low-cost carriers) did not participate. Off the top of my head, participating airlines were American, United, Delta, Alaska and JetBlue. Maybe more.
I found it super convenient that on the last full day of the cruise, in our rooms would be delivered boarding passes for all of us and airline luggage tags that appeared slightly different than what they give in the airport. Once you put your bags outside your door that last night, you didn't have to touch or see them until you arrive at your home airport. So nice.
Your flight had to be domestic and after 11:30 am. I'm not sure if it was a much later flight, like 8:00pm would they still accept the bags. It would be super convenient if they did. Just drop your bags off, keep a backpack for pajamas, and head over to WDW or Universal from PC for the day until it's time to go to MCO. Store the backpack in a locker so you don't have to lug it around all day.
