What's good at Olive Garden?

Me again, just to add... The Olive Garden we go to is a nice, relatively new, Olive Garden.... It seems to be very well managed. I think we have one of the best!

Now, to the important point.
If anyone else here are interested at all...
The thing that is good about Olive Garden can be their DRINKS!! :woohoo:

I still remember one Strawberry Limoncello Martini I had that was SOOOOOOOO good!

the breadsticks and salad are tasty. The food (IMHO) is way over priced fast food fare. Save the money and make some fancy pasta at home for yourself. It will cost WAY less and taste WAY better.

The Tiramisu is really good IMO.

If I don't just get the soup and salad, I get the angel hair pasta with the fresh tomatoes and basil.(I don't remember the name of it)

Usually I get the salad and breadsticks as well. I like Olive Garden overall, but my family really really loves it there.

My favorties are the Chicken Scampi and the stuffed chicken Marsalla. It does have a mushroom type sauce and comes with mashed potatos..very good.

I do think the desert donuts (can't think of the name) with chocolate sauce are great, but last time I got them and they were less than warm, and that made them less than good.

Agreed! :thumbsup2 My 2 favorite things on their menu.

I've never been a fan of Italian food authentic or not, lol. Love the breadsticks and salad. Used to be always disappointed with my selection until I discovered the lasagna. It is very good & now that is what I get each time.

I like the soup, salad, and breadsticks. I also get the chicken and gnocchi soup. If I'm still hungry, I'll get one of their mini desserts.

This is what I like to order also. I think the chicken and gnocchi soup is delicious.

We like Olive Garden! I go there not expecting to find a 5 star one of a kind place to eat..it's a chain, I know that and I find the food good. I am not a foodie..I just want a clean place, good service, good taste and value for my money and I get that at our local places.

Love the salad and breadsticks. Someone mentioned the smoked mozzarella appetizer, we enjoy that one!

I usually will get the stuffed chicken marsala...but I ask them to skip the mushrooms on top (I don't like them). I have also tried the lasagna rolletini and loved that too. DH gets lasagna every single time..obviously he likes it!

My "go to" meal @ OG is salad, breadsticks and spaghetti & meatballs.
Boring, I know, but I like it.

Olive garden is great...not what I think of based on the Italian food I was raised on but have never had a bad meal.

Go with what you like

Oh and dress up cause it can be fancy

I could eat just their salad and breadsticks and be happy, but for entrees I like the chicken marsala (not the stuffed one) or the mixed grill.

I love the minestrone soup. Soooo good & low in fat but high fiber. I like spaghetti & meat sauce or meatballs & the chicken scampi. When we went the last time I asked about getting the shrimp caprese with chicken instead of shrimp. It was no problem to do that & it was very good. The only thing is the chicken was lightly breaded; next time I would specify grilled chicken. And I second the Black Tie Mousse cake. Really, really good!

We rarely go to Olive Garden, but sometimes we get a gift card. We went just after Christmas and I had the chicken and gnocchi soup, which was very good. I do not like their breadsticks at all. They taste like they come from a can, like you can buy at the grocery store. I also had the linguine with marinara and that was pretty good. The standout was the limonata drink I had. It's non-alcoholic and completely delicious! I don't remember which one I got, but I'm sure they're all good. I totally didn't miss my usual vodka and cranberry. :thumbsup2

We just went last night! I like their cheese ravioli!

If going for lunch I get soup, salad, and breadsticks - either the minestrone or pasta fagioli.

If going for dinner, I get the portobello ravioli (and salad/breadsticks of course). Every single time. It's so good I cannot branch out. When I was in high school I got the chicken fetuccini alfredo, also good, but I am in love with the portobello ravioli now.

When you're not pregnant, if you go back, I do recommend the limoncello drinks they offer - especially the strawberry limoncello martini.

We haven't been to Olive Garden in a while because we recently got a little Italian restaurant in our community that's actually pretty good - although, the salad's better at Olive Garden. Everything else though is better at "our" restaurant.

Anyway, for lunch at Olive Garden, I like the salad, soup, & breadsticks. For dinner, I like the steak gorgonzola. DH likes the mixed grill. I do not like the lasagna at Olive Garden.

we have 3/4 olive gardens around me and they are always full with 45/1 hour waits. So that must say something about the food and restaurant here but than again Carrabba's is always packed too.lol.

At olive garden I only order chicken alfredo when I go with a side of red pepper flakes to put on it. yum.

We are planning to go to Olive Garden this week-my first time going there.

What dishes are good?

I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy, so I'm trying to avoid seafood, anything smoked, sausage, and bacon.

I love Italian food though!!

How's the pasta and marinara sauce in general? Is the meat sauce good? Lasagna? Meatballs? Chicken Parm?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh oh oh don't go! If you must, have the bread sticks and salad, only. :thumbsup2

The salad is good. The food is very below average. While edible, it has very little in common with authentic Italian cuisine.
True - I have a meeting there once a month. I eat a lot of salad. I don't think they use any spices with their food. Blah, blah, blah.
