What's going up at Cedar Point?

For those who are there often, just what is Cedar Point building? From what I've heard, it's supposed to be like Xccelerator at Knott's Berry Farm.

We were there in September...it is going to be 100 feet taller than the Millineim Force....not as steep but more curves and twists. The worker said it was just like some "gator" something ride in some other park....can't remember.....

it will be an intamin "rocket coaster" that has a 110 mph launch and a 420 ft vertical ascent.

Europa....I think that is more like the Wicked Twister...that was new this year....and I HATED that ride....never been so scared in my life...was NOT fun for me at all!!!!!!!!!!

I also heard the rumor that it was a 400' +, 110 mph coaster.
Trying to recall which Roller Coaster site I read it on - I don't think it was RCDB, but it might have been....

Pretty interesting how CP has handled the PR for this one. No announcements, just webcams to observe the progress and encourage the public to speculate. I'm not too impressed with the structure so far (aestetics wise) with the bright yellow tower, red track on one side, red-and-white track on the other and grey supports, but it sure is imposing. Rumour is the it will be a L-TH-B (launch-top hat-breaks) going 110 mph and about 400 feet. I certainly hope there is more to it than that since I don't see myself standing in line for 2 hours for a 30 second ride. It is very interesting watching the construction and guessing what it will be now that there are two webcams to keep everyone updated!

wow...the last time i was at cedar point was when the raptor opened...we talked about going this passed summer, but decided against it since we were going to WDW in sept...i have to confess that since i've experienced fast pass at disney, i've become rather spoiled about not having to stand in line...i don't know if i could ever go back to waiting 2 to 3 hours for a ride again...does anyone know if they've implemented anything like FP there yet? or at king's island? just curious...

i won't be one to ride the millenium force or whatever this new one is...i don't even really like the magnum...but i do have to say that i love the mean streak!

those who ride the big ones...you're brave souls...i'm too big of a chicken...

We were there in August and they did have a form of fast pass for millenium force. They had a limited number of hand stamps with a return ride time. Hope thath helps scarlett873

Yep, there is a FP system at Cedar Point. It's called Freeway and is only available on Wicked Twister or Millennium Force. You get your hand stamped for a return time.

Onsite hotel guests also get in 30 minutes early to ride Millennium Force or Wicked Twister.

Superman The Escape is nothing like Wicked Twister. Superman The Escape is like HyperSonicXLC just without the "downside" so to speak. Either case both rides are pretty much the same thing. Both are sort of one trick rides. But they are fast and you do get some good air time.
