Do you eat what you make for the family or do you make yourself something different??

I HATE cooking, so I try to make sure that whatever I make for the family is something that I can eat (at least part of). But tonight that wasn't going to work. I made a turkey pie with all of my Christmas leftovers (turkey, gravy, peas, stuffing, etc) and the portion size to stay within my points would have been TINY. So I made myself something special.... large green salad topped with brown rice and bean salad and feta cheese. Sure, I'd love to dig into that hot pie, but I am enjoying my salad right now.

So what did you make for dinner?..................P

Hi

Tonigh I had a pita pocket with 1/4 cup of hummus and chopped tomatoes.

I'm doing weight watchers and counting 4 points.

Dieting is so much fun :)

I made DS our home version of Naked Tenders with rice and beans (Lean Cuisine). I made grilled salmon and broccoli for DH who is on Adkins. I made myself a panini with some of the Naked Tenders with spinach and mushrooms.

I make one dinner for the family. Since there is nothing that I "can't" eat and I am not into making multiple things. I do sometimes have to plan ahead the rest of my meal so I don't go over my calories.

I will also modify the foods so that they are lower in calories and healthier then the reciepe might call for.

Buffalo Chicken Salad :)

It's must my son and I, but most night we eat something differently, or partly different. I'll make chicken or steak with 2 different rices, and 2 different veggies, because he won't eat the healthy rice or veggies, but it works out because we have lots of leftovers, so that's less cooking. It seems the food he likes aren't weight loss friendly, (spaghetti and meatballs) or like you said pljja, my portion would be tiny, so it's better to cook something else for me.

Weekends are SO HARD for me to stay OP! I am counting WW points and today I have planned ahead we will be having LF WW burritos using chicken breast, salsa, 2% cheese, RF refried beans, cilantro, black olives. DH said he was hungry for that and it works great for WW counting - I'll just see how many points I have left and use what fits into an OP day:banana:

I make ONE healthy dinner....if they don't like it, they go hungry or make something for themselves.

DH, DS and I eat healthier than DD14. She usually cooks for herself because she doesn't like my dinners.

Since I'm the main grocery shopper, I make sure we have healthy choices in the house for DD to pick from.

Last night's dinner was veggie chilli and a veggie and light cheese sandwich...dessert was blueberries. I was VERY hungry last night.

Today we are going to Rainforest Cafe. DD and I already discussed the menu. She will order the lemon chicken with soup on the side. I'll have about 2 ounces of the chicken and all the soup. I love just sitting at RFC sipping a decaf and water watching the scenes.

Tonight I made chicken parm. It was so yummy and the way I made it it was under 500 calories. Yum!
