Roasted lemon, rosemary chicken. Roasted peppers, carrots & potatoes.

Nice day to have the oven on....windy & cold here.

WFD - Fish & Chips

I hate the smell of oil in the house but the final outcome is worth it!

Aimee, prayers sent your way.

Afternoon all--

Stephanie-- I meant to say yesterday that I think it is wonderful that you are being such a support system to your sister.

Nancy--Please take it easy, I am worried about you.....try to find some moments to relax over the next week. Poor Buddy as well, being emotionally wiped out is even more exhausting then if he had worked an 80hr week. He needs to sit back have a glass of wine and a tuna sandwich, ;)

Kathy--I am sending hugs to Kyle as well...what a game....I am glad to hear that his back did Ok through it though.

Becky--I am cringing at the black olive pitting....I worked at a local pizza shop all through high school and we went through 5 gal a week of greek olives that needed to be pitted....by the end of that day...we would have sore fingertips and our aprons would be black, and yet I still love the darn things, lol!

Lauren--Keep up the good work on the remodel!!

Aimee--My thoughts and prayes are with you and your church today. Please let us know how you all make out.

Supper tonight is going to be simple and EASY...Kris is working the boat show today and then will help tear down tonight so he will be late, so it is just a simple Tuna Casserole.

Guys if you can spare a prayer, can you say one for my BIL and his aunt? He was visiting his aunt yesterday who is not doing good in ICU and he was not feeling well so went to the ER...they kept him. He has had some kind of infection since last Tues. Its some type of ear infection but he has an abcess (sp)...it sounds pretty minor but they are keeping him another night...:confused3 Maybe to get some strong meds in...I will get an update from my sister later...TIA!

Thanks Ladies!

On a good note, tomorrow is my baby's 10th birthday! I cannot believe its been 10 years! I am happy and a little sad at the same time...my baby is in the double digits.

Am I a bad Mom since I am making cupcakes for this evening (he comes home from his Dad's) and I am making them low fat? :rolleyes1 He likes them when I make them other times so I am sure he won't even know the difference. I did also buy an ice cream cake for tomorrow.

Lauren - You're a wonderful Mom!!:thumbsup2

Show him this when he gets home -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW !!!

Lauren, I hope your BIL is OK.

So, I was soooooo nice to Laura. I pitted the olives, I chopped the garlic! She just ate. But, she was smart, and told me it was the most yummiest cod pomodoro she had ever eaten. I knew she was lying but I gave her points for her acting.

Cod pomodoro (looking the same as every other time I post a picture of it):

And, guess what we had with it? That's right...arugula salad:

How many times have you people seen this meal, anyway? It must be at least 10.

Thanks Kat! He will love that!

Becky, I could salivate over that meal any time you want to post a pic...I could go for that now. Thanks for the good thoughts for BIL.

My menu changed...we are having Sloppy Joes, fries and corn on the cob...Loreli's menu got me wanting this...

***
Update on Greg (BIL)...since the infection is not going away, they want him on IV antibiotics so hopefully he will go home tomorrow. His aunt is not so good...

My grouting job came great...the camera is broke so I cannot post a pic.

Didn't realize how tough it was until he came in and gave me the details. He had 10 strikeouts and 1 walk.

He pitched well and his back felt okay, so those are the most important things. If he keeps pitching like that, the wins will come. I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better.

Aimee -- I know it must have been such a rough day for you.

Lauren -- How is your BIL? I hope he is doing better. (you posted the update while I was writing this. Prayers said that he is well enough to leave the hospital tomorrow.)

I wasn't lying. It was really good, and I ate every bite of it.

Liam did really well at his baseball tryout this morning. He hasn't been all that excited about baseball recently because he had one baseball workshop that was a little frustrating for him. However, he was so happy after his effort today that he is definitely looking forward to the new season now.

That looks so good I might have to reconsider my feelings on Cod.

Aimee I hope things work out for the best. Take care of yourself.

Tonight we are having Sausage and pepper sandwiches I am still thinking on the sides.

I finally got to fix the shrimp artichoke linguine, well I had fettucine on hand so that's what I used. Also if anyone tries the recipe, the crab boil is supposed to be 1 tsp. Here's a not so good pic:

Thanks for all the prayers ~ the vote went well and I still have a job.

DH is golfing so I told him to pick us up something for dinner on the way home. I came home intending to grocery shop and instead slept for a few hours on the couch. Nothing better than a Sunday afternoon nap.

Kath, I have an appt with the rheumatologist in a few weeks. I've heard there is a new med out to treat fibromyalgia, I'm hoping that's his suggestion. Last time I saw him, he wanted me so doped up on muscle relaxers, I wasn't able to function.

Sheryl - sorry I'm so late responding. I hope things will go well with the doctor. Like Nancy, I've been seeing the ads for the new treatment. Hopefully this will work for you too.

I will be making my cold buster tonight before I go to sleep, since I work this weekend. (Grand Marnier)good for what ailes you :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks Janice. I really think what I'm suffering from is allergies, it's been really bad lately.

Mine have been horrible too. I couldn't decide if it was the time of year or if the workers were stirring up stuff on our roof. I started taking Zyrtec, but it made me feel like my head was swimming. My mom suggested trying to take it at night and that is a little better, but not great. Still, it is better than no medication at all right now.

What kind of pizza is this? I think I missed it somewhere. I will fix the index if you tell me :)

Lindsay - Sorry I haven't responded. I've been MIA since Friday. It is BBQ Shrimp pizza.

Sheez, ya'll have been chatty today! No cooking for me tonight. I worked all day at the pharmacy, so it was pizza out. Our first night with our "new housemates" went really well. Sis has one dd who is 10 weeks older than my ds. It's a zoo around here, but lots of fun. Okay, gotta run--try not to be so chatty tomorrow when I'm at work;)

Add me to the group who thinks this is incredibly wonderful of you. I have a close family too and wouldn't think twice about taking in my sister and her children, but knowing I would do it and having those extra folks in my small house are quite another. ;) Seriously though, I do think it is great of you and I hope you can all keep your sense of humor.

I'm glad things went well. Especially since I'm sure he (and you) were tired.

That's good news. Does this mean the worst is over and your stress level will go down to normal?

Lauren - Happy Birthday to your baby boy!!!!!

I know I'm missing half of you and I'm sorry. This has been such a crazy weekend. The roof work continued (and still isn't finished - insert HUGE sigh here), forcing me to leave the house. Yesterday, we ran some errands - Target, Lowes, etc. Today was back at my parents' house. Very little cooking for me this weekend.

Tomorrow I won't make it to work because my sister's godmother passed away and her funeral is tomorrow. She was more like a grandmother to all of us, because she and my mother was so very close. This wonderful lady lost her only child in a car accident before I was born. Her late daughter was close in age to my mother and when we moved next door, my mother was in the process of losing her mother to cancer (hope this is making sense). Anyway, they sort of adopted each other.

In the last few years, after her husband passed away, my mother has taken care of her as best she could. However, she had gotten to the point where she had to be moved to assisted living because my mother's age wouldn't allow her to take care of her. She was approaching the point where the assisted living facility was asking that we move her and she did not want to go to a nursing home. As her ability to do for herself diminished, her will to live also diminished. I am not as upset as I expected myself to be, perhaps because I know she was ready to go.

Anyway, thanks for letting me go on and on.

Good news!

Kathy -- Glad to see you posting pictures too! It looked good to me.

SI'm glad things went well. Especially since I'm sure he (and you) were tired.

Liam is almost never tired. I don't get it. I tell you, I would be a millionaire if I could figure out some way to bottle his energy. I, meanwhile, am forcing myself to stay awake for another hour at least, so I won't wake up at 5 AM.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Youth is wasted on the young. At least that is what my great grandmother used to say. And the older I get, the more I'm sure she was right. The kids ask why their bedtime can't be 10:00 and the honest truth is because I don't think I can stay up that late and still get up at 5:45.

Sincere thanks for the condolences. My family is coping well, much better than we would have if this had happened 5 years ago when she was still herself - full of life and herself. She was really something and it was so sad to watch her become a shadow of her former self.

Oh, and BTW, your dinner of fried fish looked wonderful. Especially the fish and onion rings. I do have a question. How do you batter the cod and get the batter to stay on so well? I don't fry often at all, so I'm amazed by those who make it look so good.
