Glad you enjoyed them! My kids love them, too! You're right, it's like a party!

Sorry Buddy didn't enjoy them as well. Next time, slap some between some bread and offer it up that way!:rotfl:

If he keeps this up the nachos are not all that's going to get slapped between bread!

The official word is that A & P have the stomach virus, but A also has bronchitis. Right now, it appears that H only has a bad cold. I'll have to watch her to make sure it doesn't turn into something worse, but she's holding on right now. After the huge wad of cash I just spent at the pharmacy, I hope all three are soon going to be on the mend.

Poor babies!

I grill a lot. DH lost his grill privileges after he burned one too many expensive steaks. He has the attention span of a gnat. :lmao:

My DH, too. He grilled some fish (expensive shark steaks) and cooked them for 30 minutes. They were rubber and nasty - completely inedible.

He also overcooks every steak. I think he has this fear of them being raw, while I would prefer to eat raw meat then overcooked leather.

I now do the grilling because of our deal - I do the cooking, he does the cleaning. I hate doing dishes more than anything so I learned how to use the grill.

Hey ladies, I'm still around. But DS and I have come down with the bug this week. I saw the dr. yesterday and he was 99% sure it was the flu, but then the flu test came back negative. So we have what he termed "non specific viral illness" Which translates into, don't know what the heck you have and we can't give you any drugs for it. Ugh! So, no outstanding cooking from me. DH made pizza Monday night, and picked up Wendy's last night. Tonight is still up in the air, as I still feel like crud. At least we were spared the really bad weather here last night. We did have a bad thunderstorm, but the tornadoes were a ways away.

Tonight is church, I am leading in the Ash Wednesday service and have a committee meeting after that at 7pm so it'll be another late night. I have leftover chicken salad crossaint sandwiches that I may just eat. DH is on his own.

Hi Y'all,

Time to put away the partying food & start eating a bit healthier again.

Stephanie, Hope you two start feeling better soon!:flower3:

Gretchen, Sorry all your babies are feeling so bad! Sorry for Mom & Dad too! I hope all the money spent at the drugstore helps! :grouphug:

Lindsay, Hope the bad weather is over & that all is well!

Nancy, I hope your salmon pie turns out just like your Aunt's! I'm sure Buddy will be happy with a tuna sandwich!

I am all over the place on what to have for dinner. Curry or asian or italian, fish or shrimp or veggie??? I just don't know!

Becky, Was that swordfish dish Swordfish Involtini? It sure looked wonderful! Thanks for the "uncooked" pic of the shrimp too! I would have had to ask for details on how you got them to come out like that!

I just caught the news! I had no idea the weather caused so much destruction overnight! Glad that everyone here is well.

Sad for all the families that have lost loved ones & homes.:sad1:

My dear dear sweet husband just came home to bring me tuna sashimi (my fav)& crunch rolls for lunch! He took his guys out for lunch, but placed an extra order to bring home for me! Wasn't that sweet of him! :lovestruc Dropped it off & went right back to work. Makes me remember why I married that guy, thirty-something years ago! :goodvibes

So I have to get my butt in gear & cook that man a nice dinner! So I can rule out chinese/japanese. Some kind of curry I think.

:goodvibes Awww, how sweet. I'd probably faint if DH did that for me.

Tonight I'm making Bobby's Goulash and green beans. It's Paula Deen's recipe. I saw her make it on her show the other day and it looked pretty good.

Sandy - I'd be fainting right beside ya if mine did that.:faint:

I saw that show last weekend, I believe, with Bobby's Goulash. Let me know how it turns out! REMEMBER not to drain the grease, Paula says!:rotfl2:

Now y'all know your hubbies do sweet things sometimes! Kathy, who's DH brings home fried green tomatoes for her on Fridays?

I'm gonna fix a veggie curry using Stephanie's Pork Vindaloo recipe, remember the one that had him licking the plate! That should make him happy! :goodvibes

Yes he does bring me fried green tomatoes but that's his dinner too, so it doesn't count.:lmao:

Bob will be a happy man tonight.:goodvibes

Hey guys. Well, I thought I was getting better today, but as luck would have it, I'm now worse off than yesterday. I've only managed one small meal since lunch on Monday. Luckily, DS is back to his wild and crazy self. Guess DH is in charge of dinner again tonight.

Stephanie Take care of yourself.

Lindsay How was today by you? Did you have any damage?

I have to figure out dinner.

I am so not going driving we are having quite a snow fall. Lot's of heavy wet snow. The news is anouncing some large malls by me are closing early. I don't remember that happening in the last 20 years or so.

Right now he is trying to figure out why my cats sabotage him. They all have tummy troubles so sometimes they get sick. They always manage this around him, under him, over him or a few times on him. This morning was no exception so he was out in the rain cleaning his boot. This drama will fester all morning, every time he looks down at his feet :lmao::lmao:, he will come home and they all will run over to greet him, (except mine, she hates him) sit and look pathetic or cry until he calls them up on him and then within an hour one will cough or sneeze and he will be all grossed out again :confused3 and wonder why we spend so much trying to keep them alive when it is clear that they also live to confuse him ;)

Nancy, just tell him it's a conspiracy against him. We're all in on it and the government subsidizes it... that's why you can afford to give him all those tasty sammies!:dance3:

Hope the sickies are feeling just the teensey-ist bit better.

Dinner is leftovers from the open house yesterday. We leave for Vail on Friday and need to clean out the fridge. Glynis? You wanna come up and keep me company? It's a work thing for Rick- I need someone to hang out with!

Stay safe Janice...please don't send any here...I think it will drive me over the edge.

I decided that I was not finishing dinner. I had some stupid things happen today and not in the mood to cook...more like curl up under the blankets and feel sorry for myself. T is bringing home chinese.

Like I said they were stupid...went to sear the pot roast in the new creuset pot and it started to burn. Took me over an hour to clean it. And then, my dear Andrew does not clean up after himself and my poor puppy Riley got a hold of silly putty and opened the darn egg and got the putty all stuck in his paws! :scared1:

Needless to say, A is on my poopy list. It took my almost and hour to cut the hair and pick out the putty from my poor baby's blue paws.

I haven't even showered today...sorry to be gross but the plumber was here for the gas line...and found a problem with the base board! Then we had ADT security here to give us a quote and he was here 2 hours. And now my back is bothing me.

I need a drink and maybe the hot tub but its raining!

Here is the shrimp recipe

Simple grilled shrimp

1 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cloves of garlic, very finely minced
about 3 tbsp. finely minced parsely
about 2 tbsp. olive oil
about 1/3 cup fine dry breadcrumbs

Toss the shrimp with the garlic, parsely, and olive oil, plus salt and pepper to taste. Add just enough breadcrumbs to make a very thin coating--that's why I posted the raw photo, I wanted you to see that you don't want a full crumb coating. Then set shrimp aside to steep for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours. Thread onto skewers and grill until just cooked through on both sides--these shrimp were 20 count/lb and I think they took about 6 minutes total.

WOW! I made this tonight and it was fantastic! Dh and I both loved the shrimp this way.

I don't have skewers or a grill but I used a broiler pan and broiled them, turning them halfway. In addition to the salt and black pepper I also sprinkled in some cayenne pepper. It was so good and I will definitely make them again soon. Thanks for posting the recipe. :)

Lauren Have no fear I'll not send any snow your way. Gosh I sound like Underdog :rotfl2:

I wouldn't be able to lift the snow once I get it to the box. Superwoman I am not. I want this snow to stop now for the rest of winter pretty please. We are supposed to get a couple more inches tonight then a few more tomorrow. I have stopped listening to the weather they are not telling me what I want to hear.

Sheryl, yes, it is involtini--the recipe is in Mario Batali's Babbo cookbook.

Lucas, I am glad you liked the shrimp. It's a fallback one for me.

I never posted wfd. Well, DH has joined the ranks of the sick ones. So, I am just making some panini and we are going to curl up on the couch and watch some Entourage.

None of this is stupid my friend. Things just seem to be magnified when it all happens in one day. Sorry I wasn't here for you earlier, please call from now on. I know I said I'd call you last time we talked on the phone but things just get crazy and I'm old, so I forget. Darn it girl, call next time......;)

Well Kyle surprised me with the fact that three of his buddies were staying for dinner. Instead of doing the sane thing - order pizza - NOOOOO I decided to be supermom and cook enough for 4 teens and us.:faint: I'm exhausted.

I'm also very upset, a friend of mine from the other discussion forum I chat on (non-smokers) hasn't checked in since yesterday. She lives in Southaven, MS where the tornadoes struck.:sad1:
