While stalking you ladies, I decided to go out and find Zatarian's over bake for tonight's dinner!!

Problem is I went to 2 supermarkets & they don't carry it in my neck of the woods. :confused3

So much for living in the North. No oven bake for DH!

I am going to make stuffed cabbage, thanks for all the inspirational posts!

This is a super easy way to do fried cajun food, not the real thing at all!!! In case you want to order it online:

You NOLA girls are gonna cause me to get a divorce with all this great food you guys have. I just ordered me some chickory coffee this morning and I'm supposed to be on a food budget!

Oh, I forgot, I am a NOLA girl by induction! ;)

Thanks Becky for helping with the index!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my weight loss.

I may have forgot something or someone, I'm sorry. I have been in a fog lately...OK, just very clear headed. :)

As far as I know it is. I can't stand the smell of that place, not sure what it is but I've only been there once.:confused3

Really only once! Well the smell that probably bothers is fish! They have those tanks with the tilapia & other strange swimmy things! But talk about save money on Asian products! Even regular stuff like soy sauce, half the price & double the size. The only thing that bothers me about the place, is it's a little intimadating with everything written in another language. And if you ask for help, well thier English isn't so good, so that doesn't help.

Ya know that's true! We're just waiting for you to come on down, so we can throw a big ol cajun seafood boil!!! party:

Lauren, Glad you liked the coffee, sorry it breaks the budget! Did I miss a post? You've lost MORE weight?

Becky or Laura or anyone?

Have you ever found fresh galangal in the market? Appparently it looks similar to ginger root but has a different & distinct taste. It used in the Malaysian cooking along with ginger.

Kathy, That big Asian Market on Berhman Hwy is still open, isn't it???

I can get galangal at my Asian market--but it's a really big Asian supermarket. Not sure if they would have it at a tiny place or not.

The smell might be fish tanks, but it could also be durian. They have durian at my market and I can't stand to go near it...I can catch a whiff of it as I am walking up the entry way, but I just try to ignore it. The fish area doesn't smell at all at my Asian market.

No need to be sorry...Tom likes the coffee as much as I do so I don't really have to justify that expense...not that I justify anything...its my way or the highway! ;)

Yes, I lost another 3.8 and Tom lost 2.4...we are on our way!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks Becky, I think the smell is the fish tanks, but can't be sure. There is a LOT of strange things in there! I don't know what I'm fixing now, the guy doing my landscaping just ate up a chunk of my day, wanting my opinion, then telling me it wasn't a good idea.

Congrats! I'm proud of you! oh and Tom too! But :cool1: you even lost more than he did! Why do guys usually have such an easier time with that?

Briarmom, Real Snow on Main Street! Now that is different! Did you & the kids enjoy it anyway? Would you post that recipe for the Moroccan burgers please?

My dd and I had a great time! We have AP's to DLP, so we're going again in 3 weeks.:thumbsup2
The burgers were not that great. They just weren't...I don't know.

Glad to hear you still had fun in the cold!:goodvibes AP's at DLP!! Well, that is just too cool for words!!! :cool1:

Sorry about the burgers. I think you said it was a Rachel Ray recipe. I like her recipes, but do find I have to increase the seasonings & spices a lot. For me that's not a problem because I have trouble following any recipe to the letter. :confused3

The coffee we were talking about is a New Orleans favorite. Community Coffee & Chicory, New Orleans Blend. They had an offer to send out free samples to out of state friends. I just checked & that offer ended, sorry. Here is the link for the coffee

I went to DLP when it first opened...I was so excited! You are lucky to live so close...glad you had a great time!

Sheryl (Shovan) introduced us to coffee that they have in New Orleans. It has Chickory in it...its delicious.

We are doing Weight Watchers. I find it is the best for us (hubby and I). We are really dedicated this time...and journal everything we eat.

Have you visited the WISH boards here on the DIS?

Congrats! I'm proud of you! oh and Tom too! But :cool1: you even lost more than he did! Why do guys usually have such an easier time with that?

Thanks! We are really dedicated this time and I am trying not to cook like I used to and do not cook as much. More veggies and fruits too.

Tom has been really good at eating fruit...it almost killed him the other night. :scared1: I was sleeping and he was snacking on an apple, well, a piece got lodged in his throat and blocked his breathing. He said he came into the bedroom to get me clutching his throat and I didn't wake up. It finally dislodged and he was OK. He had a horrible sore throat yesterday and was so hoarse. Poor guy. I just turned over and went back to sleep! See, that panic button he bought me could have come in handy! :rotfl:

Lauren,
Poor Tom!!! It could have been Death by WeightWatchers!!!;)

Glad he didn't keel over while you slept through it!

You know I just pulled up the recipe for the Greek Turkey burgers & realized it was a WW recipe!

That's what I'm going to fix for supper. Since I've Dis'ed the day away! Although I will continue to blame the landscape guy! ;)

Briarmom, WW has worked well for me. I took off 35 lbs about 5/6 years ago doing WW. I've been able to stay within 5 lbs of my goal too, by loosely following WW guidelines. Mostly portion control & lots of veggies & fruits! When the clothes start to get really tight, I start breaking out the WW recipes.

Thanks! I am always looking for a new great coffee. I like Peets, but lately it seems like the 'roast' isn't right on and I order the expensive, not often roasted (won't be again until next fall!) so it bugs me if it's not perfection.;)

Yes. I have been 'doing' WW as well, but when weekends come around I fall apart.
Last week (until yesterday actually) I had a stomach thing and of course instead of making me lose 5 pounds like it would have when I was younger, it just made my metabolism slow down. Especially without the working out.

OK, OK. I know you all are right. I really want to be hot when we go to WDW in mid April.
My parents are coming in a couple weeks. We are going to be travelling for 2 weeks straight. Any WW tips for that?

Sheryl, You're an inspiration! I know the program works...I also lost about 35#s several years ago but then had gallbladder surgery that really got me off track since I couldn't work out, etc. and I gained it all back. I need to do it again.

Briarmom, Stick around we'll do it together. :thumbsup2 The weekends are hard for us too. We do use all of the extra points for this and try to be really good during the week. It helps that we are very active on the weekends too since we are renovating the house ourselves.

Do you have any ww tips? Mine are: 94% fat free popcorn = 1 point, drink lots of water or sodium free seltzer, light beer is only 2pts and easy to track, and I am in love with egg whites that are in a container (love egg white and cheese omletes)!!! dwlz dot com is also great!

You live in Europe & you are going to be traveling AND you wan't to lose weight!!!! I really don't have any tips for that! Well you will be walking a lot, so that should help, right? ;)

On the coffee do you usually buy beans & grind them at home or buy it already ground?

Yeah...we don't have a lot of 'light beer' here. ;)
We also don't have any of those dwlz restaurants.
My favorite breakfast is a plain yogurt (European) with 1/3 cup All Bran buds and a packet of Equal. It's 2 points and full of fiber!
It's hard to know what points are in the local food. They don't really put nutrition info on their food. They don't have HFCS in ANYTHING :cloud9: even Coke has real sugar and tastes so much better. And, for the most part, they are thin. Hmm...maybe I should only buy non-American food....

 You're telling me?! In Italy I gained weight in 4 days and I walked MILES!

On the coffee, yes and yes.;) Oh, and I also order French Press ground.;) I love having it in the bean, but then I have to find a power converter. I never know where I had it last.

Inspiration uh?! You know my downfall, wine & cocktails!!! I did it the same way you are doing. Watched it really hard during the week, to save points for weekends. For me breakfast & lunch are easy, dinner, tv & cocktail time are killer! So I'll be really good during the day. But not skipping meals ever. That would do me in everytime!

I really liked the eggs in the carton too! You know you can even make a low point Tonga toast with that!

Red wine & little pieces of dark chocolate helped a lot, and light beer for seafood boils.

My Achilles heel!

I make that recipe often, it's a favorite in my house. I do usually substitute tortellini for the spaghetti, and last time I made it I added spinach straight to the stoup and let it wilt down. My family really liked the spinach in it!

I decided to steal your idea. Instead of adding spinach to the meatballs, I am adding them to the soup. I'm so excited!!

I don't think this recipe is posted so I will add it in the morning. If anyone happened to save it from the other thread, could you copy and paste it and PM me with it? Thanks!
ETA: I'm referring to the Spaghetti and Meatball Stoup.
