Dee, is that you?!?!?thelobstershanty said:I recently read a similiar thread on another Disney related internet board, that you posted to. The post in response to yours-- on that board, had some very valid points. It stated that really all the DVC villas are not anything like hotel rooms. The closest DVC villa to that would be the OKW studio. The more hotel feel between the resorts is in the hallways, elevators and amenities. Not in the feel of the DVC villa, where you are living for the length of your trip!
If there are Disney hotel rooms that can compete with the "hotel DVC villas", I wish somebody would tell us about them!!!!! They would be great rooms to get with an AP discount, which is most often lower than a DVC discount; for a nice long weekend getaway!![]()
No, sorry you have the wrong person. But I do agree with some of the points that poster made on the other Disney related discussion board. Mostly, that I also think none of the DVC villas are like hotel rooms. OKW's studio is the only one that is the closest to a hotel room because of the room set up. I do agree that the hallways, parking and resort amenitites are like a hotel set up at BCV, VLV and BWV, but not the villas. All the 1 br and larger DVC villas are set up like condos with OKW having larger rooms.dianeschlicht said:Dee, is that you?!?!?
And this is why some prefer one type over the other. As nice as all the DVC resorts are, I personally don't want my "disney home" to be like a hotel. I'm in the group that prefers more of a villa/neighborhood/community setting. But I know many others prefer the hotel setting....something for everyone with DVCI do agree that the hallways, parking and resort amenitites are like a hotel set up at BCV, VLV and BWV, but not the villas. ITA. This is true in most peoples choice of travel accomendations, whether they are going to WDW or not. For example, some people find an inside cabin on a cruise ship is perfect for them, while another family would never even consider anything but a verandah cabin. Some families prefer to rent a whole house complete with a pool which is located within 15-20 minutes of WDW gates (which, if we are honest is many times the wait for a WDW bus); yet many would not even consider staying off WDW property. Some people consider DVC villas nice, but not worth the financial investment and commitment and prefer to stay conceirge or suites when at WDW. Many people want the total hotel service, convenience, and believe it or not-- the atmosphere; at whichever resort they are staying at, whether it be in WDW or not; or DVC resort or not. And some do not.MiaSRN62 said:And this is why some prefer one type over the other. As nice as all the DVC resorts are, I personally don't want my "disney home" to be like a hotel.
