What's everyone paying for Sirrus/XM these days?

They just called last night. I've had it for 30 days of my 3 free months and offered 4.99/month for six months, or $35 with taxes. (I had to agree to allow them to bill me after that, but I'll cancel in the last month.) That's fine. I like it, but don't LOVE it.

Knowing my husband he's probably paying full price. He says he now refuses to not have it because he loves it so much and it wouldn't dawn on him to call them to try and save money.

He wanted to use it on our drive to Orlando in June but only wanted to listen to certain music and certain talk radio which I hate so I "accidently" left it at home.

He pays for it from his part time internet business so I've no idea how much he is paying.

Just got mine again for the $25 for six months. It took a couple of calls, and then a complaint when they sent the survey online. The customer advocacy person called back, and I told them it is difficult to negotiate with representatives who barely speak English. I like SirriusXM, but I hate calling the listener care number. They should rename it the listener headache number.:headache:

Thanks to this thread, I just called and got six months for $25. There is an offer on their website called Turn Your Radio Back On, and I called the number that was listed.

I just have to make sure and cancel before the end date (actually a couple of days before), or they'll automatically charge my cc.

:goodvibes

I called this week and got the $25 rate too, after much going back and forth. At first it was $89, then 59, then 30. I finally said how about $25. she acted that it "might not work, but lets try"....

We just bought a new car and we've got it free for 6 months. After that we are NOT signing up for it; here in Canada it would cost us $175 a year!! Or $210 a year for the premium package!!! No thank you very much. So NOT worth it.

If you get the SiriusXM gift cards, you never have to give them a credit card. I got mine at Best Buy. Plus, I refuse to pay that $2.00 invoice fee if they mail you a bill.

Just renewed for 6 months at $30 for the radio I have in my Ford Explorer I got in May. I called and the their first offer was $200 for everything (sat..internet..smart phone), I then told her I already have an account with 2 portable radios and she looked it up and then said I could get if for $150, I told her I was already getting it cheaper and would just use one of those radios in my car if she couldn't come down any lower. She then said she could match the $86 for a year and it seemed like that was the lowest she could go. I asked if there was someone else I could talk to and she said her supervisor. He comes on the phone and says he can give me $150 as I had a Ford and it was special Ford pricing, so I laughed and said that the previous woman had already quoted me $86. I told him again how I already have 2 radios and would just use one of those. He said he could get me the $86 rate. I then said what about the 6 months for $30 I have heard about. He then says because I have heard about that rate he would honor it.

It's that time of year again for me! What's the "best you can do for me before I cancel my service rate"! LOL. .

Got tired of that game. I have a smart phone with unlimited data and blutooth in both cars, so it's $3/month for Pandora. My wife and I both use the same account, and can listen to them independently on our phones at the same time.

It ultimately came down to even their best deals of like $5/mo was still $10/mo for 2 cars, 3 times the cost of Pandora. And I get to skip songs, so really, just didn't see the value anymore. Cancelled, and they won't stop calling me daily to get me to sign back up. It's hilarious how much time and effort they are putting into getting me to sign back up. If they put as much effort in keeping customers as they do in trying to get them to sign back up, they'd be in far better position. Don't tell me to sign up for $15/mo, when, in a last ditch effort, you will drop your drawers and offer me $5/mo, 1/3 the cost!

Pandora it is for us, also check out soma.fm, an online radio station of about 25 different music types, all commercial free, and listener supported. Great alternatives to XM/Sirius!

Dang, I tried so hard last week. I got a new vehicle and it has satellite for 3 months. The best I could do was $11.99 a month and that is just your basic channels with no talk radio. I said at least 3 times, if there was anything better and she told me, that was the best she could do. If I let the trial period run out, I have a $25 reactivation fee. Maybe I'll wait for the letters to start arriving.

There will be no re-activation fee, you just tell them, I'll only sign back up if you agree to waive the fee. I had 5 months left on my "trial" when I traded my other vehicle in, and I transferred the subscription over to a vehicle that had no service, and they wanted to charge me a $15 fee, which I paid online, and then called and they looked up my account and said, since I'm such a good long time customer, they'd refund it.

I cancelled mine a few months ago. They offered a few options at the time, but none were working for me and I felt I could hold out for better. I have not received a single solicitation to come back to them. Not one letter or offer of a great reactivation deal.

I have to listen to terrestrial radio now and it sucks. I have no idea why they don't send me something. It took them about 2 weeks to actually shut it off (was hoping they missed me) and now...nothing.

You don't need to wait for a solicitation, just call them up and ask them what's the best offer they have, and then go from there. I did that on my previous vehicle, while we were on the way to Disney, and I called and asked for a 6 months for $25 deal and they did it, right out of the gate. It came on in a few minutes.
