What's everyone paying for Sirrus/XM these days?

I have XM and pay ~$70/ yr. When my time runs out, I am going to hold off for a better deal.

We had 2 receivers and within a few weeks of each other, they both stopped receiving a signal. They were both 2-3 years old.

I cancelled both. Have no interest in buying new receivers and then paying for the service.

I bought a bluetooth device so I can now stream music to the car radio from my iphone.

Anyways, offers keep coming in the mail at least once a week and they call a few times a week but I have stopped answering.

We just bought a new car and our 3 month free period is ending at the end of this month. Just received a letter from them letting us know it's up for renewal. They are offereing the following:

1 month - $14.49 ($15.91 inclusive)
6 month - $29.94 (32.87 inclusive)
1 year - $95.00 (104.31 inclusive)

First off, the 1 year makes no sense to me in the context of what they are offering. I'm not going to go for 1 year at $47.50 per 6 months when I can do $30 per 6 months. Granted, I'm sure there is a big savings if I go for 1 year and if my 6 months auto-renews at a much higher rate for the next six months.

Anyway, I guess I'll renew at the 6 month level and then just cancel in 5.5 months and see what they do for me. It is truly not a necessity to have, but nice when you're on a trip.

We have called and cancelled 3 times and the first 2 times we always got this deal: 6 months at $25....Didn't take it this time tho, we don't really need it so we opted totally out this time

FREE promo going on right now for the next two weeks. LOL

We aren't Sirrus XM fans AT ALL so any amount is too much for us. ;)

I am sure if you tell them that you are cancelling they will give you a deal (sort of like the cable company). We got tons of letters for specials after we didn't subscribe after the free trial period.

Ours expired and i'm not in the vehicle enough to justify paying extra for radio. DH checks every time he gets in to see if there's a free promo. There seem to be a lot of free promos. We've been listening to Sirius now since before Labor Day for free.

I cancelled a while ago and continue to receive offers in the mail for $25 for 6 months. no reconnection fees either.

I am super happy to find this thread. We have a 1 month old vehicle. Got offer for 1 month for $16, 6 months for $48, 1 year for $175 & up from there. 1 year showed you got 1 month free. I had just told DH & DS not to get used to XM as it was going when free trial was up.....if I get a deal, maybe not.

I had a thread about this a while ago and I ended up paying $77 a year, which I was ok with. We rarely listen to local radio anymore.

For that amount, it's worth it to me and my family. YMMV. :)

I don't pay anything. About a year after we bought our car (in 2007) they were offering a "lifetime" subscription for around $500, so DBF called and bought it. We haven't paid since then. I can switch it to a new receiver 3 times before it runs out, it hasn't been switched once. We have Sirius, its in the minivan only. I won't be getting a new car for another 2-3 years at least so I don't plan on switching receivers for some time.

Me too. We bought a new car about 4 months ago and they gave us a lifetime subscription to sirius /xm. I will never again listen to regular radio.

I cancelled mine a few months ago. They offered a few options at the time, but none were working for me and I felt I could hold out for better. I have not received a single solicitation to come back to them. Not one letter or offer of a great reactivation deal.

I have to listen to terrestrial radio now and it sucks. I have no idea why they don't send me something. It took them about 2 weeks to actually shut it off (was hoping they missed me) and now...nothing.

I called to cancel and was given the rate of $86 + tax. I took it because regular price was $175 and I'm kinda addicted to my Sirrus radio!:lmao:

OP here: This is the offer my DH went with. Now that I'm telling him about the 6month rate he may decide to call back and cancel and see what they offer. MY DD28 had it in her car and let it expire. She hasn't been offered any come back deals at all.

We used to have XM, but cancelled a few years ago. Will they give those rates to "new" people or only existing customers?

Also, are XM and Sirrus still separate or is it just one now?

We use Pandora at home and I've been happy with my ipod, but it's getting a little old. I drive 60 miles one way to work, so radio stations don't last the entire way and Pandora on my phone goes out here and there along the way, making it irritating!

Roughly $38/month for one built-in unit in a car, one portable unit in a truck, and to listen online. That includes taxes and all.

Called to cancel, got a annual renewal for $95 plus taxes. I'm pleased with the price.

We pay $84 a year for Sirius/XM. It was originally much more (can't remember how much, but a lot!), but DD#1 called to cancel and bargained them down to $7 a month. She was a customer service rep for a local cable company at the time, so she knew all the discounts to ask for.

DH travels to/from Washington DC several times a year, and he'd go (even more) nuts if he had to try to find a local station every hundred or so miles.

Has any been offered for anything cheaper lately? Our subscription is up and they are offering $163 including taxes for 1 year. That sounds so expensive.
