What's everyone paying for Sirrus/XM these days?

They seem to give the best offers when they think that you are cancelling your subscription. I told them I was going to cancel if I had to pay full price and they basically offered it to me at half the cost!

I wouldn't pay more than $25 for 6 months. I always cancel at the 6 month mark and they send the same deal within a few weeks.

We bought our car new 5/2012 it came with XM free trial. We have not paid for it yet just listen when it is the free offers here and there. We just got an offer for $25 for 6 months with no activation/etc fees. very enticing especially since we are driving on our next 14 hour trip to the world but I'd rather buy a few Mickey bars instead!

Try using this code - 398442 - it's for 6 months of XM radio for $24.99. Both my husband and I just renewed both our cars at that rate.

Wow, I must be paying for every bodies great deals!!! lol. We are paying almost $200 for 2 car radios (they are after market) and the ability to listen online. I thought $200 was ok with me.

What I'm wondering is, If people are getting these $25 for 6 months. Is this the Platinum plan? (this is xm/sirius lineup)

It's like HBO and Showtime. You can get Showtime cheaper than HBO. HBO has more shows that get awards, etc. etc....Showtime has a few.

So Platinum you get everything. It's like looking at a cable/dish/dish network bill.

You can get Basic cable for $30 a month. You get Basic Plus $50, Basic/plus/HBO/Showtime $70 (these are just "fake" numbers, but I hope people understand what I'm asking.

If you are getting "Everything" for $25 a month, I might have to call. I pay per year and no credit card on file, so they've got their money for this year. Next year when I have to call, I'll have more info to let them know I know people who are getting, to me, unbelievable deals.

I ask all of this, because my buddy bought a new truck. It has XM radio and I think a free promo. It doesn't have most of the stations I listen to.

Thanks for anybody who clears this up for me.

We have 1 car with Sirius, 1 with XM & they both have the same line up even though the actual channel # may be different. We pay $20/5months on each.

Nothing! lol I refuse to pay for radio. :) It seems I am in the minority though even with my friends.

So people are getting Howard Stern, Nascar, Opie & Anothy, ESPN all the talk shows for $20 for 5 months(per radio)?

I can't answer for all those stations because we do not listen to Howard Stern or Radio Sex(eww is that really a channel?) but we do have the ESPN, NASCAR, & the college sports for sure since that is why DH has it.

Thanks Belle....That would be the difference. They know that most people will want both or either or. Once again, like HBO or Showtime. It's the same on satellite. I'm with you on the sex channel, but I really, really like, almost love listening to Howard. He has a way of interviewing people and gets the most inside information I've ever heard. He knows how to get people to open up.

We too have the $20 for 6 month deal. We do not get the extra channels, Howard Stern and the like. I am perfectly happy with the lineup we do get though.

I have been getting mine for free for over a year now. I had the 3 month trial when I bought my new Kia. After 4 months my radio froze so I had to get a whole new radio installed. I had XM again thinking it was another 3 month trail. Well over a year later I still get it. They send me mail all the time asking me to subscribe to the service for a low price. Little do they know I have the lowest price of free!

Yet another reason I miss my van....it was a 2005, came with a year trial of full Sirius-this was back when they were separate. It shut off for a while, I didn't really use it. One day I must've hit one of the buttons on my steering wheel, and hey, I had sat radio again. Must've turned my receiver back on after the xm merger or something. Anyway-I had free sat Sirius/xm for years. :confused3The van was wrecked, i got a Kia for a couple months-they did the 25 for 6 months i didn't pay attention because i was going to trade in the Kia (really didn't like that car, huge costly mistake...but i digress) Now I have a new Honda, and a trial for xm for 3 months. So I'll see what they send me, if anything.

It's really frustrating that, just like with the cable companies, you need to either cancel service or at least threaten to in order to get a better deal.

My lifetime Sirius (which includes internet) is now working out to $5.94 a month. As I plan on keeping my VW wagon for many more years, it is a real bargin. When I purchased the lifetime, it came with the ability to transfer to a different vehicle 3 times (at $75/transfer). Best purchase I every made. Much better than a $1000 stereo system upgrade (the VW premium sound system is already awesome).

My wifes VW EOS also has lifetime Sirius, but they did not bundle the internet in at that time, nor can it be transfered. Her cost is now down to $12.79 month.

Each lifetime was $499 each. We had to call Sirius/XM directly to get lifetime service. I don't know what the cost is now, or if they even offer it anymore.

PS - I'm currently listening to Sirius internet right now while at work on night shift!!

The only station I listen to is the Margaritaville station. I love the Jimmy buffett live concert broadcasts and I can listen to the concert replays over and over again. Plus I can get reception out on my boat. Well worth a subscriiption

$4 per month thru October- then I call to get that rate again,or cancel.I'm not that attached to it,where I live, and all the trees,it tends to go out quite a bit
